Default buy from cobb or pdx??

So if I buy the AP from PDX for $50 more, that would save me from having to pay the additional $150 down the line for their maps, correct? Meaning it already comes with their maps preloaded and isnt just a regular accessport marked up $50? Also, if I buy from PDX would I still be able download and use maps from cobb? I will be running stage 1 for a bit until I can manage to save up for TBE. Will the maps from PDX work with stage 1? It seems that everyone that uses them are running stage 2.

Sorry if these questions seem moronic, my car (other than tires) is stock and I was getting ready to purchase an AP when I ran across these PDX threads.

thanks - Dave

You have to tell them that you want stage 1 and stage 2 maps when you buy the unit then. Problem is, if you don't hve the stage 2 parts and tell them what they are, they can't really make you a very good map. PDX mapping is good idea. But maybe you should get the stage 2 components first.

Just get the AP as cheap as possible and go cobb stg 1. Later on down the road use Cobbs Stg 2 (which is free from cobb) then take it and have it protuned at your convenience. This will give you a higher power to money ratio

Ok, thanks for the advice/opinions. Seriously . But you didnt really answer my questions. Mainly I want to know what the difference is between the AP for sale on cobbs site for $595 and the one on PDX for $649 aside from the obvious price difference.

I cant afford to to do the TBE thats needed for stage 2 and dont know when I will be. Im tired of the hesitation/jerkiness in throttle response of my car. I need smoothness!!

Buying AP used sounds great until you get it and it hasnt been ummarried properly causing you to pay more than if you just bought it new.
