Default Why do people like to crap all over WoW threads so much?

Just wondering. Because everytime there's a WoW thread, someone has to come in and say "omg you guys are the biggest nerds EVAR! lightening bolt!"

No one goes into your grill/gun/vacuum/wine/camera/whatever threads to say "omg you guys are such losers and have no life for being interested in your hobby"

This isn't a complaint I'm just wondering why people are drawn to WoW threads if they have absolutely no interest in the game.

new consoles coming out

Are all NOT geeky...just WoW...nothing else.........just the people playing WoW are geeks. They develop their own language and talk about stuff nobody outside fo their group would know.

Actually, people do all the time, in almost every enthusiast/hobby/snobbish/gun thread ever posted in OT. So the real question is, why do you think WoW threads would be any different?

because i can speak about my hobbies of art, music, and cars in plain english that people who are uninitiated on such topics can have a grasp of understanding.

this however, i fail to grasp any entertainment or possible enlightenment from:

I decided to head up to the next bracket, and proceed to level. Well, I'm still in the 10-19 queue, and I thought that it would bump me up to the next bracket automatically. I ding 20, and within a few minutes I hit get the invite for WSG. So I click accept, and everyone is laughing evilly when I arrive in the game.

I'm a level 20 in a 10-19 bracket! This must be because the game only checks for your level when you first signup, not when you enter the instance. Oddly, there happened to be another person that was in the same situation in this same game. Needless to say, we were both at the top of the list (above). I was slaughtering people, it would take 3 or more people at once to bring me down. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in game in a while.

Someone told us there was a like 38 shaman out there killing people who had a 60 hunter alt. So we were fine for a while when all of a sudden dude attacks us, so we killed him. About 15 minutes later a 60 hunter comes up and corpse camps us for about 20 minutes. Sooooo, long story short my buddy comes on with his main character, we had 3 60 warlocks and a 60 rogue out there killing this guy giving him a taste of his own medicine. Of course I just watched, since my mage is actually my primary character since I only play about 2-4 hours a week or less.

I for one, was looking for a funny story as advertised, and was severely dissapointed. In retaliation, I began craping, I suppose.

WoW is quite obviously the D&D of the 21st century. And we used to beat up the D&D nerds left and right.

I beg to differ

there are TONS of people here who have no clue then get jumped on when they say something in snobbery threads. especially if they ask to get somehting explained because they don;t get it. or they just get flat out ignored.

it's not my fault if other people don't want to explain things.

i was just pointing out the differences in methods (english vs. indecipherable nerdspeak) there, sheriff.

There are a billion (<-- true number) forums where you can geek out over WoW without people making fun of you, where people will accept you lovingly as the barbarian or wizard or whatever. You should be happy they don't lock the thread as soon as it appears in here.
