Default Coolant Conditioner

Subaru recommends their coolant conditioner to prevent and/or stop minor head gasket leaks. In my mind this converts to radiator stop leak. Have had success for many long years with Bar's Leaks.

Does anyone know if the Subaru Coolant Conditioner is anything special or just a fancy name for a good stop leak?????

Unless there is a compelling reason to use the Subaru stuff I'm thinking about using Bar's Leaks.

Oh, this for an 05 WRX.

Thanks,
Roy

i thought the conditioner was just to disintegrate all the nasty stuff in the cooling system..i just did a coolant flush and used that along the subaru coolant

I would just stick with Subaru Coolant Conditioner. You can't beat a $1.49. I switched over to Peak Global Long Life 50/50 with subaru conditioner. Same color as Subaru and recommended by people on here.

We have a forum for this and this ain't it. It is most certainly NOT Bars, so quit trying to outthink engineers and put it in your car. It's made by Holt's an English company. Please post in the right spot or use the Newbies forum until you get ahold of this place.

....was there a reason to bring back this 8 month old thread from the dead? The point was already made about how cheap the conditioner is.
