Came back from vacation and saw that my car arrived at the dealer late last week. Going to see it tonight and start the paperwork.
Ordered 9-22, so it's almost 4 months of waiting.

What are the stock All seasons? Asked my dealer if I had summer tires on the car and just want to make sure they arent slapping on some cheap all seasons if the stock summers are $1000!

All WRX/STI come equipped with Summer Performance tires. There is NO OPTION to change them. You can ask your dealer to work out a deal but as many mentioned you will get 1/3 of the price for those $1000 dunlop tires. It's best to just fork out money and buy a 2nd set of narrower wheels to use as your winter set ups (black steelies) because it'll be very expensive if you want to put all season/winter tires on the OEM wheels since they're 17" with 8" width for WRX. For STi I only know they're 18"

Actually, WRX wheels are 17x8". I just got a set of 16x6.5 wheels from a 2005 WRX, with Blizzaks. Plan to swap them on today when i get home from work. Definitely a good way to go.

Yeah they are 17x8. Iono why I keep saying 17x7. But either way they're both really wide for Snow Driving. It's better to get a set of 16x6/6.5 to use in the winter. Where di you get that set of 05 WRX wheels from and how much?

You're also going to have to consider selling your "used" Dunlops and the hassle that it brings versus the credit provided that you want to get rid of them. If you check the classifieds section on the site you'll see that people are having difficulty selling their Dunlops and are barely getting more than what the dealership will give you.

You can get a set of Continental DWS for $568 or $740 per set for your WRX or STi respectively. With the ~300 dollars that the dealership will give you, you can get some very high quality All Seasons for only a little bit more and you don't have to deal with the hassle of selling "used" tires. I think that's definitely worth it considering that you're not going to be getting much more selling them privately since they're apparently terrible tires and definitely not worth the sticker price.

Ya there is no "STOCK" all-season. What I meant in my post is if you dont want the stock summers and plan on using only the stock wheels, the dealer will most likely order you a set of tires u pick out from say Tirerack and put them on for you. They will also offer u a $300 credit towards those all season tires and they keep the summer tires. So if u order $800 all seasons, you will only pay $500 to the dealer. But my point is keep the dunlops and sell on forums or something for $800-1000 to someone that will want them and just shell out the money for the $800 all seasons. Thus breaking even instead of paying the dealer $500 in the long run.

I myself bought a set of 18x9.5 Rota DPTs in hyper black and had the dealer put the stock summer tires on those, and then purchases all season bridgestones to put on the stock wheels for late fall to early spring usage.

Most people get their cars with 7miles on it, thats not used, you wont even notice any wear. The dealer isn't going to just pick some out for you, they will have you go on tirerack, mainly cause more subaru dealers get a discounted price from there, and have you pick them out. They will then be sent to the dealer and the rest is history. 7 miles on a brand new tire is still new and should be sold as such. AND if you dont end up selling them, hang onto them til you save up some money and throw them on a nice set of summer usage wheels which again would save you some money if you go that route. The stock dunlops arent the greatest tires, but they are still really good ones and shouldn't just be given away for $300.

You dont only have to rely on STI forums to sell those either, you can push them on MS3 forums, WRX/STI, etc, or even craigslist. Someone will be interested at some point.

I've been trying to sell mine with only 100 miles for the past 2 weeks and have not get one message about them. I've posted them on here, my region chapter, my local classified for $500 and no response. They're a lot harder to sell than you think.

Of course there will be the whole ordering process from the dealership and Tirerack and whatnot, I'm just saying that if you want All Seasons and don't want to deal with the hassle of reselling them, you should just get them for a discount from the dealership.

If you check the classifieds here on NASIOC you'll be seeing that people who are selling their nearly brand new stock tires for only a few hundred dollars. You aren't going to be making out with anything better by selling them and you have to deal with the hassle of getting rid of them. I guess you could get dedicated summer wheels for those tires, but I certainly wouldn't want to use the lousy Dunlops as a dedicated Summer tire. There are many better choices that you can get for dedicated Summers. Regardless, I hope the next generation WRX/STi comes with All Seasons. The people who want to swap them out will do it anyways, but the people who don't care will get an All Season tire right out of the box.

Yea that's what I am worried about. I was told 8-10 weeks but the more I read in here the more I call bs. I am a patient guy, but it's all about expectations. I would rather they tell me 16 weeks and get it in 12 then vice versa.

I got them from the classifieds here on NASIOC. I think it was $700 total for the 4 wheels + 4 Blizzaks, all mounted and balanced. All are in great condition, and it was cheaper than going with steelies from TireRack. Probably could have talked him down had i pressed, but i'm happy.

Aaahhhh, you guys didn't tell me how hard the final week is!!

Car should arrive today, waiting on dealer to confirm and send me proof of life. Taking delivery Thursday evening now, and getting my windows tinted first thing in the morning Friday.

I also feel like the universe is haunting me. I almost never see STi's (maybe one a week), and saw about a dozen over the weekend. And I had about 5 different dreams last night... all about my new car...

3 days...

Just shop around in your area. It's impossible for us to give you a "good quote" over the internet. Generally, $200 is considered a good deal for a 4 door car using generic (Johnson) film. 3M will probably be a bit more.

The best deal I could get in my area (NC) after a few months of bargaining was a few hundred over invoice. It depends a lot on location/volume.

Quoted me $250 for the basic stuff and the next level up was $400. Told me $360 if I pay in cash so I'm going for that. The fancy stuff was like $600!

I am getting the Llumar CTX ceramic, 15% rear, 30% driver/passenger side door. Full lifetime warranty on anything with the tint itself or the installation.

Honestly it's about 60 bucks more than I planned to spend but I read a lot of reviews on a lot of places and these guys seem pretty legit. Window tinting is such an art that it makes sense to pay for the good stuff.
