boost problems
I have a 07 wrx. I had a lean issue for a long time, and when I finally get it fixed I end up now having boost problems. Each time I give the car full throttle it drops on peak. I have the Cobb stage 2 tune uploaded, but it drips each time, it's down to 12.2 psi, not the 16.1 the tune is set up for. I'm guessing my wastegate spring is worn out or the boost solenoid is weak. I know I need a pro tune cause the AP doesn't support all my mods. Any opinions or help to offer?

It's pretty normal for boost to taper like that using the oem turbocharger. It just means your out pacing what the turbocharger can flow. I ran 112 mph trap speeds on my stock turbocharger, pump gas, and Hydra ems and I don't think it was holding more than 11 psi.

Anybody correct me if I'm wrong but a fmic if anything would help you run higher boost because of colder air flow and yes boost should taper toward redline especially on stock turbo so I would say you definitely need a protune if your are running a fmic. Cobb ots maps aren't designed for the intercooler. Plus protune will get you a lot more power. Hope this helps

It's not a problem, it's just how it is, move on Now it would actually be abnormal if you held peak boost to redline with that turbocharger. LOL!

Nope, don't be sorry I'm sure it helped at least somebody from the 169 views. Your knowledge has to start somewhere and none of us started out as "experts."
