Default Summer tire and Auto X tire recommendations

So looking at purchasing some rubber for the summer season, what input do you have on what I should purchase.

Summer tires -
Have to handle at least one - two summers.
Grip is important and needs to be solid in rain.

I do ALOT of highway driving during the summer back and forth from Denali at "solid" rates of speed so I need a tire that can handle this

AutoX -

What do you recommend?

I wanted some dunlop star specs. been hearing they are great tires. probably not something you'd get more then 2 years on. to pricey for the size I need though.

I only had mine on for a month or so last year (Starspecs on 17x8 OZ) before the white stuff fell.

Let's just say I quickly found the limits of the car's suspension.

Those tires stick like white on rice, like a cat on a shag carpet, like velcro, like stink on ........

Dunlop Star Spec's. Kentobeanz is on his second summer, and that silly M3 is really hard to keep up with on the AutoX course. I've heard they are pretty impressive in the wet as well. They are cheap in comparison as well to other high performance tires.

well if there the 7.5" then me personally i'd stay with a 225/45r17, if there 8" wide then i'd consider doing a 235/40r17, if you get a chance, have nomadgene show you the ones on his rims, i believe there 225/45r17(i should know this, i sold them to him) and they look a little wider then the size advertised

The blowout prices of the RE-01's make me want to consider them.

Do 245/40-17's fit on LGT's? Should fit an 8 inch wheel just fine.

Dunlop Star Spec 225/45-17 should fit your dual purpose needs.

Too bad you didn't order them sooner. Tire Rack had a deal for a $50 rebate on a set of 4 when purchased by 3/31

I think Tire Rack sold out of all the 17" RE-01s. Maybe I'll look at these Star Specs...

245/45-17 would be a little tall. Conti has that same size R-compound sitting in the parts dept from LAST May because they were misordered.
