Random Missfirre
As The temperature gets colder I have been having Missfire codes poping up more often. Some times I get Cylinder #2 or Cylinder 2,3,4. I have Cobb heads and cams with an underdrive pullt set on a 98 2.5RS. The ligth does not flash it just comes on and resets itself after a few cycles of driving.
At idel the light are running dimmer. When I hit the gas in park the head lights go to normal. Any ideas on a fix besides removing the underdrive pully, which was a bitch to get on an Automatic. SEN |

The dim lights are definately from the pulley.
As for the misfire codes, does your car run badly when the check engine light is on? If the car wasn't put together properly or the belt has slipped (cam timing off) that could be a problem also. |

welcome to the world of aftermarket parts do you have an intake yet?? if you don't get one, i get a random misfire on cylinder 2 from my flywheel the intake has cured it and has only happened 3 times since then, that was about 5 months ago. I got it twice in the past week because of the fuels starting to get dilluted and such....good luck

Ever since I put a light flywheel in my car I've had a recurring CEL come on at 74 mph. Yeah, only at 74 mph, and it blinks. Normally blinking would make me really nervous, but every time I've had the code pulled it tells me some cylinder(s) was/were misfiring, but I can't feel, hear, or in any other way detect that there is actually any sort of misfire going on whatsoever while it's blinking. On top of that, the info stored in the ECU never makes any sense. It will say that my car was going XXXX rpm's and XX mph (when I know it happens at only 74), and with the gear ratios that I have I can never even go the speed it says at the rpm's it says! Last time it said it occured at 250 rpm... the car wont even run at 250 rpm. It's been written off as a computer glitch, and I'm happy with that.
