Well crap.... I just got suckered into a $1000 deposit on one of these bad boys... Should be a real beast, probably quicker than my previous R1.

200hp/123tq (est)
There was a tester who reported a 151mph trap speed also.

http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Articl...ID=6556&Page=1

Wish me luck!

It's actually got the cajones to back up the looks. The B-king missed the mark and I think the Vmax nailed it. At least my $1000 hopes so...

At least the B-King can do more than go straight.

Still, it looks much better than the 2003 V-Max.

my favorite bike of all time, the VMax!!! The new one looks sick. High price tag though ($17k+!).

did I mention you suck?

Would be nice if they were on the list for test rides during the AMA vintage motorcycle days at Mid-Ohio. Maybe next year.

I think the new one will do alright in the twisties... They put a lot more effort into the chassis and handling dept this time. Actually compromising the planned engine (290hp w/VVT) due to the need for the chassis to be 2in longer with it. Or maybe they thought even 290hp is just a bit much in any situation.

290HP in a motorcycle = insta-death for the mid-age crisis yuppies who want to look sexy again and haven't ridden either ever or in 20 years. That puppy better have ridiculous stopping power, even at a 'scant' 200 HP...

Wow. That thing is a beast. I can't imagine going from my R6 to this. But since you had an R1 I'm sure you'll be fine. Enjoy.
This thing takes a dump on the B-King looks-wise.

yamaha did a great job updating the bike. i just wish they kept those "intakes" a bit like the old style.

have you guys even see the bike up close? pictures do not do the bike justice. i might be a tad bit partial as i ride a ducati but i'm not a fanboi or uppity snob like most owners. from a mechanical p.o.v, the bike is amazing. and the exhaust note is sex.

And AWESOME, the vmax made my pants tight when it first came out, the update is incredible! If I were to ever buy a standard/cruiser/whatever they call it, THAT'S the one.

QFT - Most motorcycle deaths/accidents happen to cruisers due to above statement, not sportbikes which tend to attract a younger crowd.

That bike looks great though, but just not quite my style.
