Default New to Subarus, New to cars, Used to forums!

Figured I'd introduce myself on here.... so HI!

After about a month of being patient with the seller (great guy!) I just bought my first car: 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS with 90k miles on it and seems like it was maintained nicely. I'm almost 23 and figured it's about time I own my own car (first car was a 95 maxima that i loved, and second is still an 04 malibu with the newer body that's great for just sitting back and cruising but boring as hell if you actually want to drive.)

So, it's pretty cool owning a car... I'm pretty stoked about that. This is basically going to be my training car! Since when I bought it I pretty much couldn't/didnt know how to drive stick... it's going to be used to learn. And also, I've really wanted to learn about cars, how they work, and be able to work on them myself and all that which I could never with the mental stigma that I'd be screwing around with technical someone elses car (my dads) and not mine.)

Any advice, greetings or whatnot are appreciated!

Columbus Ohio??!?!?! Don't do it! Stay where its warm and you won't be miserable outside 90% of the year. Have fun with your new car, I'm a bit jealous. Looking for a bugeye wrx when I get back to the states, if the price is right...

I respect that. A lot. And you're in the right place! Ask, learn, repeat. We will do our best to share our enthusiasm and knowledge!

And yeah, Columbus might have sucky weather, but it's a hell of a party town!

Welcome to the forum.

(And go Buckeyes!)

Haha.... part of going to columbus is for the whole cold/snow/miserable weather thing as weird as that sounds. I was born in the northern states and have always had an itch to go back that wont go away.

And ya... part of the reason ohio is on the top of my list is ohio state. if i decided to go back to school in a year or two it would be awesome to go there. I find it pretty cool that there've already been a couple "go bucks!" posts.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I plan on asking a ton when I need to, but it's pretty cool to be a part of such a popular forum that most things i've wondered about so far I can just search answers up from old threads.

First goal is learning to safely drive stick on hills. Definitely don't want to kill myself or my car before i get a proper chance to play with it!!
