theres really no gains to be had from tuning the N/A cars from what I see. They're pretty much on the edge as it is.

there are driveability and reliability gains to be had from tuning a stock ej253 (05-07 at the least) and with bolt-ons a tune is necessary if you want to get anything out of them.

well hes right about them being on the edge. you will actually want to pull some timing from the stock timing tables because the factory programs way too much advance to be useable, even with 93 octane. And this causes them to knock and retard timing as a result. So a properly tuned n/a is happier than a factory tuned n/a but certainly not much faster. there could be some slight power gains from leaning out the fueling, because they are stupid rich in OL, but not anything measureable in terms of peak power. more area under the curve could result, though. which is just as nice. a mpg or two might be had, too. thats all with respect to stock engine.

well im hopefully picking up a trackpipe tomorrow from a guy by me, and then ill have
mods: perrin lw pulley cold air torque box mod borla rep headers n1 catback trackpipe grounding kit and im guessing with those mods ill feel a noticable amount of power on the butt dyno.. this car is just a DD and i dont wanna spend all the extra money on insurance for a turbo and commuting back and forth to school is nice when its not turbo and have not as good gas mileage |

much different? one's turbocharged.. one's not. That's a pretty significant difference. I'm sure Chad (CBRD) won't tune it because he's not familiar with tuning the NA 2.5... he's doing you a service by not tuning it.
Tuning is much more about knowing how the car works than just knowing the software. |

I would not trust someone to tune my car unless they are confident and has had experience with a car similar to mine (N/A and Forced Induction are totally different animals)

Try IAG, Agile, or XX. Those shops are listed in order of distance from you. (I used to live in Hanover) |
