Get a wing like the APR wings. They mount on the outer edges of the trunk. You shouldn't have strength issues there.

gt wing should be mounted to the frame/chassis ALWAYS. mounting a functional wing to just the trunk is bad bad bad.

also wouldn't the GT wing mount up to a WRX trunk vs a wingless?

Chassis mount is best, but many many cars run it on the trunk (ala time attack and so on) full blown GT is different, i think for his purposes trunk mount it ok.

depends how fast he plans to go, and how much downforce the wing provides. there can be alot of force on the mounts.
