Default New Muffler

I might look into getting another muffler.

I would just get a universal muffler and weld it on to my cat-back; it's cheaper.
I particularly like the coffee can style ones.

Anyone know a good universal muffler?
I want something loud with good sound.

I found:
Blitz Nur-Spec: That's really loud I hear from others
Megan
Apexi N1 muffler: I don't know how loud that is.
HKS: Too pricy, and I hear it's not the loudest.

Magnaflow is basically #1 rated by the hotrod guys. However, you've got a ton of options. Is there a reason you must get a coffee can type over, say, an oval type? I ask simply because of noise reducing abilities. Weren't you whining before about exhaust noise? ...maybe that was someone else...

No, I seldomly ask about exhausts.

I was the one that said the police in my area are more easy going.

I have a Magnaflow coming from a 3 inch TBE made custom by slowboy racing and it sounds absolutely outrageous. I cant believe how good it sounds, its very very loud at wide open throttle and decently quiet at standard driving rpms.

youre going to sound like a honda i hope you know. those cans sell for $50 because they are made like $50.

buy quality and dont cheat the system.

borla all the way. or in your case an HKS will do just fine.

and besides, just so you know your "can" wont be tilted like an sti or a wrx. it will be straight. and it will look fugly!!!

Get one that muffles well. Take it to a shop and have them make you a catback with a resonator and you'll be happy. Have a catback made will give you some more power with sound.

I love my Prodrive axelback, has the right sound and is really deep. Stay away from large cans they'll just make you sound like any other idiot with a crappy exhaust.

if you buy just an axelback then yes you will sound like a honda. BUT, if you do a header back system then it will sound great. I have Borla replica headers, Stromung HFC, 2.5in mid pipe, and Apexi N1 ab, and my car has the ability to scare women and small children (in the words of Gino). No but really, if you get the whole system then you will have the subaru "rumble", but if not, then you might as well be driving a civic.

and just b/c its not tilted doesnt mean it looks bad, you get used to it after a while. just make sure whoever you have install it hangs it right and makes it clean looking.

I already have real borla headers.
Stock cat
Cat-back from a muffler shop.

I don't think it will sound any close to a civic.
I think my current can exhaust sounds pretty good thank you.

Megan seems really nice! But I have a RFL muffler haha I got lucky when a friend gave this too me when he chopped it off his system. Never go for an ebay one they all tend to rust! (from experience)

Which Magnaflows are you all using? One of their straight-through designs or the chambered Turbo XL line?

The anodizaiton on that tip makes NO sense. I think they must have coated it with something to force it to end up like that.
