Default FR-S Sales Plans

Scion apparently held an event recently in Nevada for the automotive press which was embargoed until yesterday. One report which WASN'T about the test drives comes from Wards Auto at http://wardsauto.com/sales-amp-marke...sales-annually. According to that report:
Quote:
[Scion VP Jack] Hollis says Scion is optimistic the FR-S will sell at a higher volume than the BRZ, because of the passion within the company, Scion’s extensive dealer body and the lack of affordable, light, rear-wheel-drive sports cars on the market.
Duh!

Scion is importing twice as many cars as Subaru and has twice as many dealerships. Given these facts, I, too, would be optimistic that the FR-S will outsell the BRZ.

Yeah, Scion is saying they're gonna push 20k units of the FR-S a year, starting next year. They're shooting for 10k this year. Maybe I should have gotten an FR-S instead of a BRZ. :P (Kidding!)

We'll see about that. With the BRZ offering more content for not a lot more money I wouldn't be surprised if more people opted for the BRZ and production numbers shifted.

Yeah, that's ultimately why I put my order in for the BRZ. Even the Premium is a better deal imo than the FR-S, if you're looking for options vs. cost.

I believe the FRS is trying to grab a younger crowd, with a lower starting price and being that scion is very popular in that demographic as well. Which is good news in that we might be spared the insurance premiums on the BRZ, my wrx is killing me right now.

Scion sales will tank once the BRZ is available on VIP(if SOA allows it).

It wouldn't bother me one bit if Scion sales far exceeded Subaru sales. I like the idea of having the version of the car that's a little less common. Plus, like others have said I like the more refined options that are coming with the BRZ.
