Default replacing one tire?

I had the pleasure of getting a nail in one of my tires on my '05 STi. They are the stock Potenzas. I swapped them over the past 2 winters with my winter tires, the probaly have 10,000 miles on them all street driving. The guy at a tire place said that they look good and it shouldn't be a problem changing one. Anyone have imput on this?

Plug the tire... move on...

I personaly wouldn't replace 1 tire on an AWD car... I know your tires don't have much milage, but the difference in overall tire diameter, though it may be small, could cause a difference in overall tire speed, messing with your differentials...

10k on them? Hmmm, I wouldn't replace just one.

it all depends on the remaining tread depth ....

6/32nds or more just get a new tire any less shave the new tire to match the existing tires

I would plug it but it went in through the top of the tire and out the sidewall, so there are 2 pretty nasty holes.........

Bummer that it went through the sidewall too. I'm not familiar with tire shaving, but for what it's worth, I usually don't like to replace just one tire.

When your measuring tread dept, you measure the middle tred correct?.

I am having the same problem as VINITHING. I have 15k on a set, thats about half worn, I don't want to replace 4 becuase 1 got a huge hole, if I can find a cheap way out.
