Default blessing or potential curse?

a guy i met through a friend has an 05 wrx that is totaled and wants to sell. the roof is caved in(hit a bulldozer brakes went out) $1500 for it, wrb 80,000miles, salvage title. i know the old stigma of the "should i buy this" q, but im more asking, is there enough swappable parts to put on my 96 obs to make it worth it

Yes, I believe buying a salvage car for $1500, as long as the engine is completely ok, would be worth it.

You'd have the interior, engine, tranny, etc if needed. Really depends on the condition of the car. If the roof only is damaged, it's a great deal. It seems there might be some front end damage though... right?

Yea, I'm wondering how just the roof got damaged if the brakes went out. seems like at least one of the four sides (front, driver, passenger, rear) would also be damaged. Regardless, for $1500 you could probably put it in your back yard and part out bits and pieces. once you hit $1500 (or more) just get a scrap guy to haul it for you, or do so yourself if you have a trailer.

Without seeing the car itself, or knowing what's actually wrong with the car, we can't really answer whether it'd be worth it for swapping into your OBS.

im waiting for pictures i havent seen it since before the accident. he said the he was on a backwoods trail on thier land and the brakes werent working, downshifted and oversteered into the bucket of the bulldozer which was was up so the windows and roof are destroyed and the rest of the car is supposedly ok, didnt say how fast he was going im assuming he hit it somewhat sideways..said mechanically and interior (minus roof lining lol) is fine other than id have to figure out why the brakes went if i planned to re-use them..
