NASA-NE HPDE at Watkins Glen Sept 19 & 20
Drive The Thunder Road – Watkins Glen International
If you've always dreamed of driving on the same track as the likes of Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti, Bobby Unser and Mark Donohue, NASA Northeast has the event you have been waiting for. On September 19 and 20, NASA Northeast, along with Driving Impressions, Partsquest.com and Raceshopper.com will be hosting a two-day High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) at world-famous Watkins Glen International Raceway in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York. Come up on Saturday and make a weekend of it. Tour the local vineyards or visit one of the many waterfalls in the area, besides driving fast, there are plenty of other things to do in the area. If you have never been on a track before, classroom and in-car instruction are provided. NASA’s HPDE program gives you and your car a safe and affordable way to get on the track. No speed limits, no pedestrians, but best of all, no tickets. You are provided with an experienced instructor to help guide you through the event, one on one, as you learn how to handle your car at the limit. Set your own goals and go as fast as you feel comfortable. Starting with HPDE, you can progress as far as you want, even up to wheel-to-wheel racing. Watkins Glen is the ultimate track experience in the northeast. There will be a prize raffle on Sunday with many valuable prizes provided by Driving Impressions (teamdi.com), RacerPartsWholesale.com, Partsquest.com, Raceshopper.com and others. NASA Northeast will also be raffling off a free track day to Lime Rock Park. Raffle tickets are free with your entry! For more information and to register go to: www.nasanortheast.com For information about the track: www.theglen.com The Glen has hosted a wide variety of racing competition including Formula One, Can-Am, Trans-Am, NASCAR and Indy cars. The Victory Circle at Watkins Glen has seen many of the top names in international motorsports. You too can drive on the track that created legends. See you there!

Bump for one of the greatest tracks in the US!!!
Last year at the Glen was awesome with NASA - We had several sessions on the 2nd day with so much track time that I would almost go through a tank of gas each session! This year will be even better! Plus, we get to party at Seneca Lodge!! |

I'm in as a "possible". I'm trying to find a roll bar for my freinds Miata who wants to go along as well. I'm thinking I better do my brake job before hand....

Out of curiousity..
Those that have done WG in the past, what were your lap times.. I know Performance Driving event are not about speed, and all about driver improvement.. and being consistant lap after lap, all while being smooth and safe.. That being said, what have been some of the WRX and STI times, Street and Race tires.. Just curious.. as I am using this as a reference.. At the Audi club events there are very few Subaru's and I have yet to practice with one in my group.. Thanks Alex |

Now my excuses for not being there. I won't be able to make it because I have to work. Mid week events are not good for me. My Subaru is trashed and needs both tires and brakes before it can see the track again. Taking the Honda is not a viable option as I have four more races and a championship that I am chasing. Z |
