Default Bugeye STi Limited in the Land of the Samurai

I've been posting now and again in the bugeye thread and the Okinawa thread, so some you might've seen my ride already. But I figure it's time to start up my own thread. Right now it's pretty stock and in great shape. Getting coilovers in a few months. Thinking about going Cusco, but we'll see if the local tuner has any recommendations. Not planning too much for exterior mods, but I'm going to focus on handling and exhaust first.

Well it's definitely going to take more than a few months. The coilovers are just the first step. A Beatrush floor brace and rear strut brace will be following that, since I can do that in my driveway.
It'll be a slow process

Very cool. I dig that first picture of it sitting in the gravel the most. Looking forward to your progress.

Sure thing. I'll snap a few tomorrow with iPhone. Kinda hard with lenses I have for my Nikon.

Thanks! My high school students were saying it looks like an ad picture, I'm not sure it's that good though.

Took that one at school

Well I can definitely see where your students got that idea.

What Nikon do you use?

Hmm..I'm trying to figure out which mid-level DSLR to get, so I was just curious. If you have any specific feedback, I'd be all ears. You can PM me though, when you have a moment, so as not to clutter your thread.

Very nice bugeye, Kochi! Is it too much expensive to maintain this car in Japan? I ask this because taxes and so, it looks like old models pays expensive taxes there...

Congrats for your STi

Obrigado!
It's my first year in Japan, so I'm not sure exactly on taxes but I'll find out soon enough. I do hear it's expensive for a normal car in general. K-cars are much cheaper.

Went for a little drive this morning before my afternoon classes

Also, engine shot

Not car related, here's a photo I've been working on. Went on a trip a few weeks ago and snapped this.

Anyway I'll post more car stuff in the future. Going to hit up Super Autobacs during the weekend. Maybe I'll find something interesting for the bug there.

Hi there,

I've just bought the same model in the UK. Lovely car and its nice to have something a little bit special eh. I've just had mine mapped today and we achieved 348bhp on standard engine/ turbo (VF30). I'll post a pic soon but the previous owner had it stickered up a bit OTT, you'll see what I mean!

I can't find out too much about this model though, do you know how many came out of the factory for this anniversary edition?

Thanks, Rob.

Yea, it's definitely a nice ride. Not sure on the production numbers at all.
Today it got hit in parking lot… nobody waited or got a plate number. Made a police report but, nothing will come of it.

Dude, you've got to be be gutted about that, I'd be livid.

On a side note, if you come across any original bumpers or a boot, would you let me know. I'm thinking of putting it back to how it should be rather than the aftermarket looks its been given, I think it will give me back some money value when its eventually sold.

Thanks, Rob.

Yea, livid would be the word to use here. Through no fault of my own I'm out ¥60,000. At least it's only that much.

Sure thing. If I do, I'll let you know.

Hi, do you think the skirts on yours are the originals or aftermarket. I've managed to find the front bumper and lip and a rear spoiler but I'm just checking on these now.

Thanks, Rob.

You sure on the skirts? I can't find any similar and the other Limited's I've seen only have standard skirts/ rear bumper. I'm almost sure they are aftermarket, just not 100% sure!!!
