In fact, for those who want the loud chirps, they can simply attach a silicon pipe to the BOV, so to recirculate vented air back to the intake pipe (after the MAF sensor, of course). It will still sound much louder than stock, and unless you are listening to a pair of identical Subarus side by side, except that one has VTA and another recirculated, you will not notice the little reduction in DBs from recirculation.

Here is what I mean:

I'm curious does anyone know if there is a benefit to using a synapse synchronic dv valve in a 2013 wrx that is stage 2 pro tuned to 18 psi? Like boost recovery or anything? And also I'm curious about the tial qrj valve too

no performance benefit unless your original one had a boost leak

I have the Go Fast Bits Respons BOV on my car and i recently noticed i have a boost leak. Would a BOV leak enough to create a noticeable loss in boost pressure? Or should I be looking elsewhere for a leak?

The gfb will show a false leak (gfb has a video on this) I would check the throttle body to intercooler connection... and then the turbo connection as well

Nice, now I'm well informed. Is the company mentioned GFB?

When the switch is in the centre position, it isn't connected to anything, so the effective resistance is the sum of the 150k and 10k resistors, or 160k. When the switch is in the side position where it connects directly to the other wire going to the board, it shunts the 150k resistor, making the effective resistance 10k. When it is switched to the other side position, you have a 39k resistance placed in parallel with the 150k resistor, yielding a combined parallel resistance of 30.9k, which yields around 40k when summed with the 10k in series.

This may sound stupid but I was wondering if anyone had the cobb BPV and was running full recirc? Does it sound any different from stock and what PSI are you running?

If you want the best bpv on the planet check out synapse engineering! 0 compressor surge and sounds awesome!! They have a diverter valve and a bov both can be set for full recirc or full VTA

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but would you say it would be better(for a lack of a better word) to run an aftermarket bov/bpv with a cai rather than the stock box? Seeing as how with the stock bpv and a cai the sound is more pronounced. Is that just due to the air being denser? Or is there slightly more air coming from the cai?

Default BOV quiet/loud?

Sorry for bringing up an old post but this seemed the best place for this question. I've got two questions. I have a BOV that says quiet/loud is it refering to recerc/atmosphere? If I change it from atmosphere to recerc do I need a new tune or is it after the maf? I apologize if this was answered already.

I'm new to all of this, and this may be a stupid question but how do people know you have a BOV? Is it more audible than the one on my STi now?

Stock valves recirculate the air back through our intakes, not venting to the atmosphere. A true blow off valve actually vents to the atmosphere making the typical whoosh or b-b-b-b synonymous to the supra due to the bov not opening enough and forcing air back towards the turbo, making the turbine stutter. So in short, a bov vents and makes noise, a bpv recircs and doesn't make much audible sound.

Stick to a recirculation valve as long as you're running a stock turbo setup.

I'm going to restate my question and then try and answer it. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong. From what I've gathered on the Interwebs no I don't need a full tune, however I need to tune the blow off valve itself.

unless you're running speed density, there is no way to tune around a vta bov.
