Getting past stock REV LIMITER w/ Street Tuner???
Please Help!
Does anyone know how to change and increase past the stock rev limiter? I have the Street Tuner and I have tried to increase it to 7500. Every time I try I set the numbers then step on the gas and it still keeps getting stuck at 7000? Anyone please help? Sincerely, Andrew 708.214.3134 [email protected]

There is a throttle angle limiter built into the map that controls the drive by wire system. It is a 3D map of your throttle input vs. the actual valve angle output. It closes from 100% input/100% output at 6900rpm to 100% input/~20% output at 7000rpm. I.e., your throttle plate closes to ~20% at 7000rpm even with your foot to the floor. I strongly suspect this is a base map only (not realtime).
Unless ST automatically changes this other map for you when you change the rev limiter, you need to fix up that map as well to actually change the rev limit. Your symptom seems to indicate it doesn't. I do bet, however, you can rev to over 7000 with no load (clutch in). Easiest fix is to move the row headers from 6900rpm and 7000rpm for the last two rows to 7400 and 7500, so the throttle closes at 7500. You could also just copy the data from the 6900 rpm row and paste it into the 7000rpm row completely eliminating this, but I tend to think the is a good feature of the DBW system as it softens the red line further. If you really wanted to spend the time you could stretch the last few rows (from 6000 to 7000 out to 6000 to 7500) and resmooth all the points. I wouldn't worry about it too much since at that RPM level you're probably just nailing the throttle anyway and exacting part throttle smoothness isn't going to be terribly important. edit: here is an example of my map, but using different software, set to 7250rpm redline, with a carefully stretched map: http://freon.shackspace.com/car/ecu%...vlimit-dbw.png Last edited by Freon; 08-02-2006 at 03:01 PM. |

Make sure you make the map a base change and flash it.

parker/slc/gc8fan- he is correct, certain parameters will only change once you have flashed the vehicle with the map. MAF flow limits, Idle speeds, and REV limits are just a few that need to be flashed prior to taking affect.
