Default Oh hey, what's this? A new A/S tire on tirerack.

Avon Tech M550

From what I've been able to tell, Cooper is the maker of these tires. Any comments luke? They seem to be cheap. Tread pattern seems similar but less agressive than the Contential Contisport tires.

yes it is a new offering but, they are not made by Cooper. They are made by Avon Tyre based in the UK .... but the company is owned by Cooper Rubber sort of like BF Goodrich is owned by Michelin

Anyone test them yet or plans to test soon?

I'm just curious if they should be a serious consideration for the Sub $100 UHP A/S tire category or just another crap offering.

Well hurry up

I'm planning on buying new tires in November and I'm still very torn on what to get. I'm really sold on the hydroresistance, snow traction, and price of the Contential Contisport Extreme Contact tires, but I'm also lured by the dry traction and cornering stability of the Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S (though less thrilled by the price).

I know you can't tell much by looking at a tire, but the tread design suggests that this tire may be a nice compromise between the two.
