is it really time to trade in the celi for a "impretza"?
I have meet many of you. and have been tossing the idea around quite abit of trading the celica for a rs or wrx. the wrx is a bit high in price and i am not sure what the rs goes for. as i do like the sleek look of my car as it is, im am getting kinda sick of it.
i have 12K left on the car. and i really cant afford to make another downpayment. any suggestions.

Is it a GTS?? You should be able to sell that for a nice piece of change, then pay off what you owe and use that as the down pymt for a WRX. Finance the balance, tada, WRX in the garage!! I know it isn't that easy, but wouldn't it be nice if it was?!?!

Take this advice from another 2WD Toyota owner....
When comparing the Celica vs the WRX.... The WRX will win on almost every count except for maybe the styling... and that's subjective not functional/objective. The real fun will set in once the snow starts falling. My view would hold absolutely no value if Toyota had continued bringing the 3S-GTE powered AWD Celicas here... ST205 GT-4... yummy. yes. weather is another concern of mine. i know in the winter i will be a dead duck with my current car. so that is also kinda why i want to switch cars.
i know i could just look for a 400$ beater and hope for the best with this car. but i have been seeing a major power limit lately with my car. i was also looking at the mid 90's eclipse gs-x's. |

Mike, is a used car an option? You should be able to pickup a used RS (98-01) like Dissenter's for about 15k or so... Have all your AWD goodness and everything. People say the WRX is pricey, but, if you put a turbo kit and get a suspension similar to the setup of the WRX on an RS, your looking at very similar prices, sure it will be cheaper, but not by much. Pluses to the cost up front include financing those items so you don't have to GASP save that 5K for a turbo kit. Also, all the parts are wauranteed. I love the fact that my WRX is pretty damn fast and wauranteed with all that speed. Just my 2 cents
