Default Cusco Camber Plates?? Tein Coilovers

So I bought a set of Tein Basic Coilover about a year ago now, and I keep having neg camber issues. Now Im assuming that this is because it cannot be aligned properly (had it aligned twice now) because of the stock pillow ball mounts. So if I purchase Cusco Camber plates for the Front and rear will this correct my problem, and will they work with the Tein Basic Coilovers?? Any other suggestions, or input would be appreciated.

You have too much negative camber, or not enough?

What's your toe? If you have zero toe and lots of neg camber, your tires shouldn't be wearing really fast. Granted they will wear more on the inside edge than the rest of the tire but it shouldn't be as bad as what you are describing. Toe (in or out) combined with camber is a sure tire killer. Are your front mounts pillow ball/slotted camber plates or pillow ball/fixed mounts? If they are fixed (single position) then get some slotted camber plates and that should fix your problem. If they are already slotted then you should have enough adjustability to get even tire wear.

Toe is at zero... never adjusted. But I have the STOCK pillow ball mounts with my Tein Coilovers. So I figured the Cusco Adj Camber plates would do the job. Just seeing if there was anyone who had used these, or had anyother ideas... Thanks!!

If you adjusted your camber, you've adjusted toe inadvertently. Adding negative camber (or even just changing camber at all), as well as changing your ride-height, changes toe.. whether you adjusted the length of the tie-rods or not.

Why can't it be aligned properly?... the tie-rods adjust toe, the top strut bolt adjusts camber (what you can adjust, it's range is not huge), it's very simple. Any reasonable alignment shop should be able to figure it out.

Your toe needs adjusting is my guess.

Ahhh, if only it were that simple. For one, your toe was probably never zero to begin with (unless you had it aligned before putting on the coil-overs), as the factory alignments are notorious for having toe settings all over the place.

And, as jamesohoh7 already pointed out, when you lowered the car that affected toe. I'll put even more emphasis on it than he did. Your toe is completely out to lunch right now, I guarantee it. You have major toe out, which is what is killing your tires.

To agree with james yet again, a competent shop should be able to align the car using the factory adjustments with no problems.

You say in OP that you have Basics, then later that you have Flex. Which do you have? Flex come with camber plates.

Your right my mistake... i fixed that post. There just the Basic ones, no camber plates. So I could get away without having to buy the Cusco Camber plates, and still get a good alignment?? Or is it worth the extra 450 bucks to get the camber plates??

$450 for camber plates?! Are you buying ones made of diamond?

Go get an alignment. Unless you have the car absolutely slammed, there's no reason they would not be able to get the car properly aligned.

If you are going to autocross, yes it is worth it to be able to adjust camber at the track and run less on the street. For just DD it is overkill and no nessessary.
