Default I need your input on exhaust modification.

Hello,

I am to soon get my car back from a shop that has prototyped a 3inch catless mandrel bent exhaust from the turbo back. The company is not going to build an up-pipe at the present time so it has the original up-pipe with the cat.

1) With 1 stock cat ahead of the turbo do y'all think I'll be throwing the CEL?

2) With just the turbo back exhaust am I going to gain any power?

3) Will the original up-pipe cat suffice for emissions testing?

Any input appreciated.

Thanks
Travis

Unless you put some electronics into the o2 sensor, you will *definitely* throw a CEL without any cats after the turbo.

1- like mike said, you'll most likely throw a cel.
2- you will probably see some power gains, hard to tell how much tho.
3- no. at least i doubt it.

the reason you will throw a cel is, there are 2 o2 sensors in your exhaust, and they need to read a different value from eachother. for example, if there is a cat between them, which it sounds like you dont have...
