For parts/tuning bundles!

Default BrenTuning | 2015 STi - Blouch 1.5XTR, KillerB header, ID1000, stock block, catted DP

Car: 2015 STi
Tuner: BrenTuning
Dyno Info: Mustang MD150
Transmission: 6-Speed
Gear: 4th
Peak HP at RPM: 370WHP @ 6350RPM
Peak Torque at RPM: 350WTQ @ ~4650RPM
Baseline HP/TQ for stock on same dyno: 2015 STi - 250WHP/250WTQ
Target Boost: 20PSI
Target AFR: ~11.0
Fuel: 93 Octane

Vito came to us with his 2015 STi for us to build him a perfectly reliable, quiet, powerful and emissions friendly daily driver. The mod list is very simple and that was the goal, keep everything is basic as possible while still making reliable power on the stock longblock. One of our favorite turbos at BrenTuning is the Blouch Dom 1.5XTR. This turbo provides basically stock like spool with amazing gains throughout the whole rev range and a massively improved top end. As you can see in the graph below, spool is almost exactly the same as our stage 1 tune on the same car with gains of over 100WHP at redline. As far as the tune on this car, it is at 20PSI with AFR at 11.0. Timing was kept low and the car was built with reliability and longevity in mind. We could definitely pushed the car further and made higher numbers, but there was no need. This setup is quick enough for a daily driven street car!

This is the ideal setup for the street and this package can be easily replicated. If you are looking to do something similar on a lower budget, you can go with the stock exhaust manifold or a different EL header, we do really like the KillerB header and definitely helps complete the package and keep spool the same as stock! The car has a Cobb catted DP which tapers to 2.5" and a Corsa Catback which keeps everything fairly quiet for a 370WHP car. No sensors have been messed with, the stock clutch and inlet were used and the car is still on MAF. The car still has a TMIC and we have found a comparable turbo for 2008-2014 WRX owners looking to keep the flanged style turbo/intercooler setup (Blouch 440XT, billet wheel, 10CM hotside).

Contact us for package pricing on a setup similar to this! We can always work on pricing when you bundle parts, install and tuning together. All of the work was done in house so give us a call or shoot us an email for any parts, tuning or install pricing quotes!

Baseline stock: 252WHP/245WTQ
Stage 1 Protune: 271WHP/270WTQ

SUB'D.

this is pretty much my target if i ever decide to mod my '15.

just off the top of your head, any idea what this exact setup might put down with e85?

also why use the "07 style FPR"?

Not sure about exact E85 numbers, but I'd assume around 50WHP or so more and the torque would be higher for sure. We don't have easily accessible E85 in New England like many parts of the country. The GD FPR is used to correct the ~2800RPM stumble EJ25 powered cars have had since 2008. It's not always present, but will show up on stage 2+ cars.

You could use an aftermarket, but the GD works fine so we went with that. If you search fuel stumble fix there is lots of reading and alternatives that "fix" the issue. This is a simple setup and designed to work well with the stock longblock!

Oil is a debate I'd rather not get into. There are many great oils and everyone has their own opinion. People swear by T6, Amsoil, Motul etc. There are lots of options, pick one and see if it works well in your application!

really nice build! For the 07 FPR is it really that simple of a fix?

Say I call my local subie dealer, order a 07 STI FPR and install on my GV STI (then get tune)?

Yes and No.

It is simple but you need knowledge of the fuel routing between both to install. Most stumble fix kits use the 07 regulator as part of their kit. IAG makes a nice one.

Here is the same 2015 STI baselined versus final tune by us:

Good to know, thanks for sharing. I'm surprised Subaru hasn't fixed this problem. How bad was is compared to earlier years?

This is awesome. Damn near identical to the setup I'm putting together for my 15 aside from the header. I'm using an Invidia 1.5 scroll. Hoping for 400/400 on E85. C'mon COBB and release flex fuel already!

Is a OTS tune safe at this point?

wouldn't you prefer peace of mind getting a pro tune?

could you possibly post a graph with the boost curve on it please?
I have a similar setup except the 2.5 xtr 10 cm and would like to compare how it builds boost.

Another good choice in header.

There are no OTS mapping for this setup, a PROtuner will be needed.

We usually use the Cobb regulator kit. Super nice pnp setup, just a bit pricey for what it is.

Awesome build by the way. This is the definition of simple and effective.

Gotta love these Blouch turbos. I have the 20g-xtr 10cm and it is remarkably similar to the 1.5xtr. Running about the same psi and mods, save that I have mild exhaust cams and a forged motor. Hoping to take advantage of this and go SD and 22psi in a couple of weeks.

I guess I'll have to say I'm prejudiced and think Blouch is the way to go if you can possibly manage it. Very consistent results for so many builds.
