How to install sparco harness bar and sparco harness?
Hey everyone:
Yesterday night I was trying to install my sparco harness bar and harnesses. I was in my garage from 11 to 12:30AM! I know you'd probably tell me, "go research on the net" and I already have. The sparco harness bar instructions don't seem very clear to me. Can someone give me a step by step (including pictures) instructions? Sorry I can't help if I'm a little ignorant... I mean...I upbolted the seatbelt bolts (top and bottom), took off the b-pillars and part of the carpet, cut a hole in the carpet...then what? I can't tell in the sparco instructions what the final product (at the bottom) is suppose to look like. In other words, what is the order that I should place the components in. (Ex: Factory bolt?, washer, carpet, lock washer?, factory seatbelt..etc) Also...anyone know how to install the 5 pt sparco harnesses? Didn't see instructions on this. Thanks in advance for your help. I feel real dumb for posting this. -Lisa

Don't worry, your not dumb for posting this. When I installed my friends bar, the only thing that took time was lining it up so that the bolts would go in correctly. Due to it fits just right, no room for play. I will try to get you a picture today if I get a hold of my friends car. I don't have one yet on my car, but should be picking one up soon for my new seats.
Where are you located? If you are near Everett, come by the house, I'll gladly put it on for yah. |

Most people use the factory belt locations for the harnesses, the 5th point anti sub belt needs to be mounted correctly and from what iv read cant be done on the stock seats. The harness bar should be easy to mount. Bring it by on your way home and ill take a look at it. Ill be off @ like 2pm today.
You got the right harnesses right the ones for the harness bar? |

That's exactly it. I could do the top bar and attach the two other poles to that one but I couldn't get the bottom bolts to align. Your right, there wasn't any room for play. I'm located in Renton, WA by southcenter mall. |

I don't mind stopping afterwork today by however I don't have the bolt-in kit for the 5 point harness. I just ordered 3 sets of the bolt-in kits yesterday because I assumed the person I purchased the harness from on NASIOC would supply that for me (but didn't). I just need to know what to do so I can install them next time. It's not hard its just very time consuming and I want to make sure I'm doing it right. Let me know. -Lisa |

Should've waited for the Solar Reflections harness bar. I stopped by and talked to Dave today, and his will have advantages like more room to recline the seats, and better ingress/egress because the struts that support it will be in the center not on the outside by the door. There will also be two loops to retain the harness on the bar instead of one providing better separation of the harness belts. At least this is what I understand...
Don't mean to piddle on your parade, just giving props to a local entrepreneur making a great product at a great price... |

Unfortunately the scoobymods page with the writeup is missing all of the pictures.
http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2648 This is all I can find on the subject right now. Sorry I can't be of more help. I won't have time to lend a hand until the weekend. |

Not sure what more you might need, got pictures of the bar install that should take you 20min. The belts for the lap are a little differnt u have to bolt them to the seat base some how or at the stock seat belt location.

here are some pic their one thick washer the size of the bracket. and the bar bracket go in between the setbelt and the plastic peace that hold the setbelt. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...l/DSC00670.jpg and the easier way of installing the bar is to get some tape to hold the back washer in place (or other wise it will fall dowm the hole) then put the bolt right true. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...l/DSC00669.jpg For the bottom is very easy the pic said it all http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...l/DSC00671.jpg |

The new sparco bars are very easy to install. They have seperated the Flange that connect to the seatbelt bolt, from the main bar. Install takes about 15mins.
