I'm trying to install a compustar 2wss(something like that) and I keep blowing a 50 amp fuse under the hood. It doesn't instantly blow it but after a minute or so. What would cause this? Perhaps a bad ground? Also I'm trying to do the 5 on/off thing to program my remote and it isn't working. Any help would be great!!

veightkiller, the polarity of the neutral wire is the opposite in 2006 than it was in 2002. In 2002, it showed ground in gear. In 2006 it shows (+) in gear. I believe they changed it in 2005. Everything else is in the same location, although colors may have changed slightly. Connect the neutral wire according to how I described in post #291.

Also, I was one of the guys that helped you before.

Hey guys,

wanted to say this thread is incredibly helpful! second last night during the install of the 791xv, we had a glorious idea.

we wired the neutral switch as directed but also put it on the hood sensor. the reason for this is the installer had a lot of the hoodpins go bad, and when would i ever accidentaly start the car with the remote and the hoods open?

so what this does for us is give me a visual confirmation that my car is NOT in gear, if it is the hood sensor will be tripped, and should the switch break (in a favorable position) the car wont start

just wanted to pass this idea along!

I'm having issues locating the security module in my 06. There doesn't seem to be any module behind the glovebox, nor do I see anything close to the parking brake. Also, I read on scoobymods that the keyless module and security module are one in the same. Thoughts? Thank you for your help

Are you trying to disable it? If so, just put it into valet mode. Instructions are in the owners manual.

Actually, after posting this, I disabled the alarm. My question, though, is if the ECU is reset, will I have to disable the alarm again, or will it remember that it is disabled? Thanks!

Guys, I am new to this. I downloaded the manual somewhere and was just reading it. Is it true that another immobilizer by-pass circuitry needs to be purchased to work with a 2006 2.5i? Thanks.

Yes, you need a DEI 556u, and youll lose a key. Valet key works great for this.

Just a heads up for anyone installing in a 2006:
1. The trunk trigger wire is BLU/white at the integrated module
2. You can tie the domelight supervision wire in with the door trigger in order to get supervision without a relay
3. The solid red wire in the gray plug at the integrated module is the trip wire for the defroster. I attached this to an aux output so I can turn the defroster on and off at will.
4. A turbo timer harness is a GREAT tool for not cutting the factory wiring
5. I used a solid yellow wire at the ECU on the plug closest to the firewall for tach learning. This wire will read ~1v at idle, and increas about 1 volt when you rev it.

Also, if you want to rid yourself of the keyless module, it opens up some great real estate, and also you can tap certain wires at the keyless plug instead of the integrated module.

Well, mine is a 2.5 i which I believe does not have a chip in the ignition. Plus when I arm my car using factory alarm I can still start the car with the key which tells me that there isn't a starter killer in the factory alarm (maybe just 2.5i). can someone confirm this?

So is the DEI just for bridging the 791 and factory security incase factory has an immobilizer? so what if I don't have factory starter killer? can the 791xv prevent the car from being started by a key when armed? thanx.

If its a new 2.5i, I believe it has an immobilizer on it. Mine didnt have the security system, but it still had one (WRX that is).

The 791 can prevent it from being started, if you wire in the starter kill relay.

Mine is the 2006 2.5i. I went to a local dealer to get keys for it and they told me it doesn't have immobilizer.

What's the different between Viper 5900 and a Python 990?
