Default SEMA 2008 - Now with sexy HKS Hyundai Genesis Coupe!

The more I see, the more I like!

Quote:

You have to give Hyundai credit. It is proving to be no shrinking violet in its bold leap into new vehicle segments with the luxurious Genesis sedan and sporty Genesis coupe, and its aggressive rollout continues with a higher-performance version of the coupe being created for the 2008 Specialty Equipment Market Association show.

HKS USA, a supplier of performance parts, is behind the project, which will be shown at SEMA in Las Vegas in early November. The supplier says the coupe offers all the pertinent starting points: rear-wheel drive, the right chassis and styling, and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Pretty nice, gotta say. But with like any other model that they make, it looks like way too similar to the original species. In this case, the G35..

Ugly it is not, but it just doesn't have a design that makes my pants tight. Yea, it's got all the typical shapes/features that a modern design should have, but it still seems a little too bland for me. This body-kid does make it look better, but there are many other cars I would pick over it in terms of styling.

I bet you would be all over it if you didn't know it was a Hyundai.

I think it looks great.

I bet you're wrong. I bought a Subaru for Pete's sake - I couldn't care less what name is on the hood, I just happen to not be highly moved by this design. It's nice, but not thrilling.

Yeah, the sedans are hot and the coupe doesnt look that bad at all. I would get a sedan but it just depends on what you need. Sedan with tint and wheels = baller status

What, the SEMA car?

Because the production one certainly won't.

I like it, but I wish there was a turbo six cylinder version.

Please don't say that ever again. I'm tired of explaining how almost entirely different the two are.Just know that the Genisis 4 cylinders have a vaguely (at best) similar engine block to the Evo X. Every thing is so entirely different its not even funny.

kinda like owning a Subaru WRX back in 2001-2002?

Honestly, if they jack up the price, it'll defeat all the buzz and excitement pushing these models. I'm already dissappointed they will miss the under $30k w/ V8 in the sedan.
