Default How do I operated the heated seats and mirrors?

I just purchased a 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback Limited wagon and I read online that it comes with heated seats and heated mirrors but I have no manual and cant figure out how to get them to work.

Does anyone know?

You should have buttons in the center (betweeen the front seats) console, near the parking brake, for the h. seats. A little seat with a wavy heat symbol on the button.

Mirror heat control I'm not as familar with, my pop-in-law had that exact car though. I'll ask him.

thanks... I would think I would have seen that. Ill have to check when I get home.

I know for sure its an outback limited... so there is no reason it would come without it right???

it may have been an option. I know it was with my last WRX. the heated mirrors work with the rear window defroster.

Yep no separate controls for the mirrors- and the seat heater switches are in the center console (near the parking brake lever) as stated above.

My father-in-law hasn't gotten back to me yet, but the mirror heat control w/defroster sounds correct for the '97 outback too. edit:^beat me to it...

I'm almost 100% sure the Outback Limited came with the heated seats/mirrors. He had the exact same car, manual, he loved it. HG blew at 140K, he was not using Subaru coolant/conditioner. He now has a '03 Legacy Limited (not an Outback) and it did not come with the heated stuff, but it's not an Outback.

I looked it up on Edmunds, curious if I'm right (still no reply from F-I-L).

'97 Outback Limited standard equipment includes heated seats and mirrors.

Not to draw this out any further, but it also says that leather is standard and I can't for the life of me remember if he had leather. I think he did, but I'm not sure. The car has been gone for years.

Ugh. Where did you buy it? The previous owner may have some insight.

Weird though. That stuff is definitely supposed to be there.

Should be a little sticker on every door, incl. the hatch. The front clip has one stamped into the sheet metal, it's to the left of the engine (if you are facing the headlights) back at the firewall.
