I had to see for myself. STI, good or bad?
In May I bought a 1998 2.5 RS coupe, and just love it! Today I had the day off, and my dad and I desided to go "test" a car. Most of the time, we dont give a crap about buying it, we just do our personal reviews. My dad had no interest in Jap cars. He drives a Porsche and thinks the Germans got it perfect. Its not bad, just expensive.
I showed him the famous STI. He had so many questions...and then I convinced him to go for a test drive. I drove because I have a clean record (somehow, still clean). Amazingly he actually thought it was pretty cool. My thoughts are like many others. Its heavy, bulky, and darn quick in a straight line. I did scare the salesman, by putting it where it was made to be, on the twisty roads. We all agreed, its a great car for the money. Just not a car for me. But, I am happy to have gone and experienced it. Its just so different from my RS, and they are both very fun. euro_pirate

The salesman was in the car - this doesn't sound like a joyride.
euro_pirate, Glad you got to try out an STi and that your dad liked it, but it's also good to hear your still happy with your RS. HP isn't everything (though it sure is something!) Was it an '08? |

If given to me, hell ya. I also think it is worth the price. Best for the money. I just wish I could have a first gen STi over this one. It may be the wagon feel...My first STI experience and thought it was really fun. I also came from driving a Mercedes for 5 years. Rwd, I6, and 5 spd, 4 door. Now a H4, Awd, 5 spd, coupe.

Yeah, 08. I will go back to see how the 09 wrx is. Lots for power, and same price. Ya the salesman was there, and he was totally cool.
