Hoosier 245/45/17 Now a reality, thank's to 9sec9 on evoM
Many people have asked for them, 9sec9 over on evo-m is the one to thank for ordering the first batch(so hoosier would make the tire)
Supposedly they have made quite the impression on the first testers Just wanted you guys to know ^^^ 9sec9's pic They are 20 lbs!!!! Hopefully this will help us out even more, guys stop using the street tires and this will help you et so much better...we have the transmission to handle it, let err rip!

Drag radial
Hoosier didn't make this size drag radial before, so STi/WRX and evo guys had to either use a less purpose built tire or a incorrectly sized tire...or switch wheels/brakes. This solves a lot of issues for wrx/STi&evo owners that want to drag race |

I've been following the development of this tire on EvoM - Definitely a sick tire and will have a couple sets on order for sure!

they are dot approved, but I wouldn't use those on the texas mile as I would think they are too soft. I truly have no clue though, so don't quote me on that

your stock r160 parts will take the abuse. These tires come out of the whole so smooth no wheel hop, and very controlled. I have been the running the hoosier 22/50/16's I love them. Everyone calls them a cheater drag radial lol. You guys will love them with your 17's |

They sound like a really nice option as previously there was only 2, now there are 3. I read through the whole thread. The tires are relatively lightweight (20lbs) compared to a simmilar sized hardened street tire which can weigh 5-6 lbs more.
In the end they are still drag radials, so you cant expect incredible 60's out of them like with real slick tires. Hopefully more folks start running them and they can get some more reports on how well they're holding up and working. |

jegs would be a really good option also--jegs and summit are the two largest suppliers of high performance car parts in the usa and because of their buying power they should have no problem getting them for you.
