Nankangs are cheap, and not "reliable" on extreme stretches.
Federals run wide.

not even extreme stretch.

My 225/35 Nankangs debeaded on me, twice. on a 9.5.

Tay's debeaded four times. 225/35 on a ten.

You've been warned.

P.S
Jason you're my hero.

Try Achilles - they stretch very well. Have run them on my last 3 sets of wheels.

I had Nankangs and now Federals. Federals run wide and I believe Nankangs run narrow. A 225 Federal is going to fit a 9.X wheel better than a 225 Nankang.

Federal over Nankang. Nankang have the tendency to debead a lot. Happened to a friend of mine, **** is no bueno.

The thing is depending on which tire, most falkens are narrower than another tire in the same size.

Personally if you want a cheap tire that stretches well. Go with federal.

If you want a normal size tire with little to no stretch nankangs will be fine.

And yes nankangs do debead as its happened to me before.

Happened to me as well. I've always been a huge fan of the Falken 512s and recently switched back to a set of Falken 512s. To give an idea of size... I had nankangs in 215/40 on a 9.5. My new Falken 512s are 225/40 and the stretch is about the same. The Falkens are a little wider, but no by much.

+1 on the falkens. Zero problems here. Nankangs are okay if it's a slight/small stretch but like everybody else said, they're probably going to debead if you do a "normal" or aggressive stretch.

Its a shame I'm polishing the wheels (like I planned to start) but this candy powdercoat chips too easy with stretched tires and wheels this wide.

federals run about 1 size large....if you plan to buy federals, and want "stretch" look at one size NARROWER than the desired size you want.

This. 225/40 on an 18x10.5 for instance is a really common stretch I've seen for them

215/40/18 Federals on my 18x10. Pretty good stretch. I like them better than the 225/40/18 that I had before.
