Default EJ22T Structure - should I be worried?

This has been sitting in my garage for awhile since I bought it (underfunded project) and I finally got around to posting this. Should I be concerned about the block's integrity? It looks like someone tried to open up (scarred) the passages quite a bit.......not very professional:

Belly up, driver side

are you talking about the scratches in the passages?
i just went and looked at a ej20g closed deck..and it looks very similar.
if your just talking about the scratches you should not have a problem.

That hole looks to me like a typical crankcase pressure channel to allow the crankcase to equalize pressures between the crankcase and the valve covers. Looks the same on most (if not all) suby F/I blocks.

Cool, I hope so. When you have a better look at it, it appears that it was done with a beer (maybe more than one) in one hand and a drill bit in the other...unless they just do it that way from the factory.

Im pretty sure its done that way at the factory...fast conveyor and air die grinder assembly work getting casting burrs off the case...my EJ22t had the same markings...and i was the 1st person to take mine apart.
