Default accident

So I pulled into a parking lot and my 97 impreza hit a 1500 rear bumper. My headlight got pushed in and the mounting bar above it which also acts as the radiator support is bent.. is it possible to bend it back or do I have to replace it?

It's worth a shot to try to unbend it if it doesn't look like a pretzel.

Why would you ask that?

I didn't look at the pics yet, but if you can bend that piece back without diminishing it's integrity too much it's fine. I've done it before.

Just looked at the pics, an aerial pic would be better. But so long as you can get that fender bolt out of that part of the car it shouldn't be that hard.

Good thing there was no radiator installed when you did it Seriously though, was the radiator compromised?

Everything is fine so far just damage to hood, fender, headlight assembly and the radiator support bar is a good way to say it? I guess I'm learning how to do some body work next weekend

Don't think a little heat and a pry bar will work? Kinda tempted to try it.

You won't need heat. Pry it back it place, then hammer and dolly to get it straight. You'll be able to get it good enough to mount the fender and light. Damage isn't that bad.

If you don't mind how it looks you might be able to have a body shop pull it straight enough to make everything fit/close again.

My first car met a deer and after getting totaled (it was an old ass car so very minor damage was enough to total it) I had the broken window, corner light replaced, and hood pulled enough that it would latch and open easily. It looked like **** but I drove that car for another 2 years w/o issue.

Meeting a deer is never fun I haven't hit one yet but there's been a few close calls.

If I can't bend it back ill have a body shop pull it. Hood closes and opens kinda hard but still works.
