Which car should my gf get?
So here it is... my gf has been debating for the past couple of months on whether to get a 2004 RSX Type-S or a 2005 STi, in pearl white. She's driving me nuts! Please help me help her make a decision asap!
Here's the mod list for her RSX if she gets it: C-West body kit, CF hood & trunk, CF aluminum wing, front & back struts, intake, headers, Halo-Style Projector Headlights w/HIDs, HKS turbo-charger kit with a BOV, 3-inch catback, 18" rims, TEIN FLEX w/EDFC, Brembo brakes, graphics... for now... Here's the mod list for her STi if she gets it: Chargespeed Brake Ducts, C-West Body Kit with grill (Kouki), CF hood & trunk, front & back struts, intake, HKS BOV, Blitz NurSpec Catback, Helix DP, COBB Reflash, Blitz boost gauge, 18" rims, TEIN FLEX w/EDFC, HIDs, foglights, graphics... for now... Yeah... this is about it for now until she sees something else "that's cute" to put on the car. I hope she doesn't go crazy with all the "extra-stuff" because I'll be the one putting them on for her . According to her, the RSX is a "cute little car made for chicks and easy to control". But it has no power, no AWD, no turbo, not enough room in the back, no DCC Controller and no shifter light, which is extremely important because she's not pro at driving standard yet (she still needs practice...). As for the STi, it has everything that she wants, except it looks "too man-ly" for her. I don't know guys, she's very very very picky and she has high standards for things like this. I'm in urgent need of answers because she's talking about it 24/7 and she's not getting it until late next year... *cries*

FP Green, injectors and fuel pump, ECUTEK custom tune at RocketRally, TBE, DMS 50mm suspension, 15" Speedline rally wheels + tires, big ass mudflaps, underbody protection then steal it on the weekends and hit the logging roads.

She should get whatever you like, haha.
But really, if she's not getting it now and just dreaming, just tell her to get whatever. |

Wow, your girl is pretty insane. I guess you passed the mod bug to her. Anyways, I wouldn't say the RSX-S has no power. Compared to a STI, maybe, but it's totally different. For a girl, I wouldn't trust her enough to drive a crazy fast car. RSX-S might be a better car for girls, well at least what I think. But putting a Turbo charger in the S would make the car insanely crazy.
You said she's not good at driving stick yet, and yet she's thinking about these two car and adding a turbocharger on the RSX-S. I'd be worried a little if I were you |

both r good, but i think sti is probably more driveable - power u could use any time
RSX-S -> u should skip the turbo charger and get a k20R dropped in with transmission and lsd, that thing is a monster. If u go RSX it would be a crime to go forced induction when such an engine like the k20R is around. also since u already have a wrx - its nice to have variety, in your life. |

All that said i still think she should get the STI. If you ever do have any problems its easier to de-mod that list, rather than pull a turbo kit out. Oh and AWD. |

ok for sure you will not find a new 05 STi next year..
unless you are comparing between a new RSX-s and a USED 05 STi.. then maybe their price range will be closer.. =) |

Actually, if she's not that good on the stick then RSX would be better choice (although she would learn a bad habit with that clutch) - DBW + weak clutch means it's pretty hard to stall that thing. Besides, it's 2 different class of cars - tell her when she is actually getting the car and only then you will help her decide

go with the STI awd always good and 4 doors is great too.plus if u ever go skiing and put a roof rack on a STI u don't look like a dumbass.
STI is hard to learn but she is starting from scratch just make sure she is learning the right way to do thing. |

Is she.....a racecar driver or something? Why didn't you recommend the WRX, instead of the overly powerful STI?
