Well congrats on the car! Any pics?

So does the plate mount just look better?

I guess I need to decide on the no drill request when I order.

If so how do you hang the front plate without the holes?

I have noticed alot of people requesting no drilling on the bumper and also no wash and detail.

You would think that you could trust the dealer to wash and prep a car without messing it up.
The cars come with the JDM holes (square and different width so won't work with US plates). You can buy JDM adapters to work with US plates, or you can buy a plate re-locate, or you can just let them drill.

This.

And people request not to have their car washed/detailed because some of the time they don't really put as much care into washing as you (the owner) would.

Also after car car leaves the plant it sits outside before being loaded into a boat. Then it sits on a boat in the ocean for a month on it's way over to the US. Then it sits in the port, uncovered until it is loaded onto a truck where it gets transported for at least a week with all the salt/rain/bugs/road grime. Then the dealer just washes it and rubs all the crap and **** into your nice new paint leaving swirl marks up the @$$!!!

I requested no wash/detail/tire shine, no plate holes, no dealer sticker and to leave the plastic that comes on the car on. I plan on picking mine up, bringing it home and wash, clay bar and wax...the way it should be done.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm still excited. Just kinda sucks after such a long wait. It's frustrating, but not the end of the world.

I'm in SF for work and won't get home to pick up the car until Saturday. I'll post some pics then.

This is the holder I bought:

Shouldnt the dealer take the plastic off to inspect for any paint issues or shipping damage?
I definitely can see why you wouldnt want a wash and detail but you would think that most all Subaru dealers would take great care with a new STI delivery.

I wonder how good the factory wax is on the STIs?

+1
I told the dealer to take these same exact steps when i bought my '13 WRX wrb hatch back in September and it saved me from 1) having to get rid of all the swirlmarks they would carelessly put in the paint job 2) Not have to have unnecessary front licence plate holes drilled 3) Didn't have to remove the dealership sticker that they would surely put on it.
Small things some people wouldn't even notice but it gave me a piece of mind that I was getting the car just how I wanted.

#1: you can mount plates on the front bumper without drilling or relocating by getting this: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2433617

#2: NEVER take a car without removing the plastic. it is imperative that you allow them to inspect the car and also that YOU inspect the car. they don't have to wash it, but allow them and yourself to inspect the finish, and preferably indoors...otherwise...if there was port paintwork or shoddy work from the factory, and you leave to do that on your own, you will have that much more of battle on your hands if you refuse them that part of the prep work. they don't have to wash it, just remove the plastic.

TRUST ME ON THIS, PLEASE.

I'm taking the plastic off at the dealer BEFORE I do any paperwork. And yes I'm doing it inside their shop or service drive.

Are you talking about the stupid dealer badges they throw on the back of cars?
I HATE when dealers do this to cars.

So you were able to drive it home with all the plastic on it?
Like builthatch said...take the plastic off at the dealer to inspect for damage.

I basically told the dealer once the car rolls off the truck to park it and don't do anything to it until I get there. That way I can remove the plastic myself and check for damage.

Damn I really love the sedan and the hatch both the same.

I have decided on a sedan but man the hatch is AWESOME!!!

Its the same with deciding on a color. I am going with white but everytime I see a pic of the Rally blue I want to change my mind.

Received ETA of May from the dealer.
Order date 1/24

Hoping that the eta moves forward a few weeks as others have been seeing in this thread. Also its nice to see that PBP is not nearly as popular is SWP.

Getting mine registered this week, I'm expecting $1500ish because I got to pay for the state tax when I register.
