News Binghamton Area Chat

Hey guys,

Since the CNY/Binghamton area chat, http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1493900, is getting shut down to go to archives I created a new one for all of us to post in.

For those of you who are new to this chat,

This thread is for anyone that lives in the Binghamton, NY area or surrounding areas. We try to have meets for auto-x, trackdays, food and fun.

Also, I'm hoping this will help people know where to get your car fixed, body work done, car modified or anything else of that matter. Also, where NOT to get work done!

I see a lot of NASIOC members come up to the Binghamton area for college, and not even know that us Subaru guys exist.

This thread should help anyone coming up to the local colleges, like BU, to become more acquainted with the area, as well as get the locals guys more involved.

We're not here for rice, if you don't have anything good to say then don't chime in.

For those of you that don't know who I am, my name is Evan. I own a 2010 WRX that is modified for the street prepared class of auto-x. I was born and raised in Binghamton, so I know the area pretty well. I have to say that a lot of my knowledge has been from some of the people that I met on the last CNY/Binghamton thread, a BIG thanks goes out to those who have helped me learn, Brendan - R L Newb, Sean - iceman22, and Ian - rexworx.

So feel free to post up on here and introduce yourself, and get to know the other people around. We're all here to have fun!

-Evan

I grew up in Vestal, (go bears!) and now live in CT. I come back now and then to visit family in Apalachin and western Vestal

I did auto-x once in Ithaca once with some of you in Sept. '11. That was my first ever event an I sucked hard, but had a blast. I upgraded my car and am ready for a full season of auto-x with 2 groups in CT. I think I have about 30 events with 2 track days (Lime Rock and Pocono)

In on 1.

I moved up here from long island a couple years ago. I have a stage 1 2011 WRX hatch. Generally pretty bored and anti social..lol. I stopped by one auto x last year, hopping to actually participate this year.

Hey Keith, I'm glad to see that we got you hooked on Auto-x! What have you done to your car since you were here? You should come back and run some events with us when your in the area again.

Dave, you should come hang out more often! You have met a majority of the crew, and your local. No reason to be anti social with us, were all welcoming!

We don't have any meets scheduled yet, I am busy for the next couple weeks, so if someone else wants to take lead on a meet then do it up. But sadly I am going to Florida for spring break, so I won't be in town. LOL!

DS is a good class to be in if you have some competition there. The cars are going to be really close to each other and driver error is going to play a big part. Once you go up to street touring or street prepared then all the modifications come in and you have to make sure you are well modded for that class.

That is our local regions site, so it will include BU so we don't have to drive all the way to Ithaca for a race.

Welcome to the area!

For window tint, definitely Tint Condition! They do some awesome work there. If you call them they will have an immediate price for you.

Woot woot, Bingo is popular enough to make a forum? Well look at that. Anyone selling an aftermarket axle back that will fit my 02 WRX?!

Surprisingly Bingo is popular enough. There are a lot of people up here for college and then there are some of us local people. Keep checking on here and at some point we will do a meet.

That's not too far away, do you have any pic's of your car with the black roof on white car? That sounds awesome!
