So i've recently broken in my new engine in my car but I wont be able to get the oil changed until tuesday (a break in oil change was included with the build), but theres car show I wanted to drive to today, but if its gonna be harmful to my new block and pistons, I don't want to drive it past the 1000 mile mark all that much, would it be bad for me to put another 200-300 miles on before the break in oil change?

You'll be fine... 'Break in oil' is a debated topic that many people will swear by either direction. I didn't get my first oil change til almost 3k. No problems here.

Depends is this the first oil change or second
What I did with my motor I revved it up for 20 min then put fresh oil then changed again after 500 or 1000 miles I wouldnt want to drive around with that 20 min warm up oil after first start up |

They did the initial break in at the shop for me and changed the oil once, then I had to put 500 miles on the engine and come back and get another oil change.

1. Wrong forum.
2. You say new engine. I can also list the 94,564 new engines you could be using which means that no one can help you as you are not specific. New engine, new pistons, new build....what? 3. Don't try to repost in the right forum as you should be asking this of your builder, not the internet. This is like asking us for your cancer medicine dosage....that's what you get from the doctor. |
