Very nice, especially on 93. What kind of dyno was it one?

These numbers are on a Dyno Jet.

Great numbers and it was a good day on the dyno!! I had a great time comparing my new exhaust products to some other proven products that are already on the market and thanks for taking one of the first turbobacks I had to offer!! Great numbers and a butter smooth, fantastic sounding car that has 6 speed goodness! Enjoy!

^It says 18.8 psi in the original post.
To the original poster: Was there a correction factor used? I'd like to see the dyno graph too. Any idea when it might be available? |

I honestly don't know about correction factor but I'll ask when I get the graphs.
Should be tomorrow. If not by the end of the week! |

Ok,
Here's a graph comparing the two closest dyno pulls in our dyno day comparison of my Moore Performance exhaust to the Turbo XS turboback. It's neither the best "peak" pull for the Turbo XS or my exhaust, but Nate from TPG Tuning said that after looking through the logs these were the closest in comparison to each other with minimal differences. So, with the best apples to apples data the car was able to achieve +2whp and +19wtq. We should have his 301whp/303wtq graph tomorrow and I can post that as well. Btw, my website is not finished yet but if anyone has any questions or would like to see pics of the exhaust I'd be more than happy to get that for you. |

How did you get so much torque?? Wish I had that much.

Nice! We have a very similar setup. Only major difference is you have tgv deletes. Those are very good numbers you put down!

The Exhaust had everything to do with the torque. When we put it on I lost 2psi of boost cause it flowed so much better.
Thanks man I built the car to get those number's and I even meet my boost goal of under 19psi to get them. Quote:
I'll post some pics of the setup soon. |

when you say "exhaust" you are referring to TBE section only, and not the exhaust manifold correct? That was all that was changed?
I'm guessing the TurboXS TBE was not full 3" and not a straight through design on the muffler? If that's true, you should also be seeing gains up top, where there are none to be had. Interesting. I bet you could really give that 6-7K RPM hp curve a bump with an EWG setup! |

Here's a couple pictures of the NEW TBE I put on the car. An EWG would probably get me a little more up top. Thanks |

Remember too, that we ran the smaller core options (2.5") in both the center and rear muffler to keep things quiet and to have a better comparison to you're existing Turbo xs stealthback. I'd like to also compare a non-center muffler, and only a rear muffler(2.5" core) system to see what the gains would be.

probaby just ~5hp at the most, but it will increase your spool and hold that boost rock solid
the big thing is the increase in ve it gives you and holding the boost rock solid seriously though, it's not the best mod in the world; for the price of the whole ewg system, I tell people to spend that money on turbocharger/intercooler; I use to be one of the biggest fans of ewg on the stock turbo, but you live and you learn. |

- an EWG here, and on any other setup for that matter, would definitly give more than 5hp difference. -It wont help him spool any faster. A BCS, yes. Pnp ex manifold, yes. Ported turbo, yes. EWG setup? NO. -I don't understand how you think he could hold the boost "rock solid" and increase the VE, yet only get 5hp. I have an EWG on my TD04 setup on the EJ205, and I know i gained more than 5hp. |

Alot of you were talking about how an ewg would help Ian's car..... Well, my car and his are VERY similar except we differ on a few parts including the external gate and I ran 23psi on pump gas. Here's the parts list and the graph. We ran on the same dyno, tuned by the same guy, etc. Ian and I were very excited to not only get his car tuned and test out my new exhaust parts but to see how our two cars would vary due to the ewg and higher boost. For me, this tune was to push the motor as far as possible on the little turbo so I could try to catch the damn evo's in autox! lol Ian and I both took some time for our individual cars to research our parts and to make what we think was good part selection. I think we have some of the fastest pump gas, small 16g, 2.0 liter cars around and autox should be a blast next year!

looks about right. You (Impreza2) are holding around 280-ish at 7k, whereas Ian's car is holding at about 262-263-ish at 7k.
So the EWG + BCS combo is definitely doing you good up top. I bet on 100oct unleaded you could hold out darn close to 300 at 7k. Thats a kick @$$ 16G right there! I'll second evan-Impreza....stock tranny? |
