Thanks. The front plate is required, or I would definitely ditch it. In the stock location about half of the plate would be blocking the intercooler. So for now it will have to stay where it's at.

Is there any worry long term as far as wheel bearings or ball joints or some other parts regarding the 25mm spacer? I remember back when I had my '02, people would scorn you for using a wheel that was less than 42mm offset because of this reasoning. Since coming back, I see everybody on low offset wheels or running spacers and now I'm like

no one said you couldn't race with spacers. the complaint is that they wear out your wheel bearings prematurely if you daily drive with them...not sure how true it is.

I went to a road course in MN on Monday and the car was great. No issues from the spacers either I think it probably is true. Purely from a geometry standpoint it is putting more stress on certain parts. The other risk is putting another interface/failure point in the system. Cheap spacers could shear off and cause some major issues. With a quality, hub centric spacers the risks are minimal. IMO, similar to running a low offset wheel. |

Car looks beautiful Ben!! I really like the aggressive stance that it has now.
I do wish it still had the hood scoop though in my opinion makes it look even meaner but it looks great none the less! Adam |

No way. I saw a guy with yellow wheels on his WRX and it looked horrible!
Thanks. I do still have the scoop. I might swap back and forth sometime. |

My engine bay. Don't mind the water drops. It started drizzling as I went to take the photos.

And for those that didn't notice, I moved the OEM coolant overflow tank over to the passenger side of the engine bay and got rid of the tiny, crappy tank that comes with the FMS FMIC. Here's a close up photo:
To do it, all you have to do is unscrew the hardline from the radiator fans. Then remove the hoses and flip the hardline. I bent the mounting brackets 180 degrees, so I could use them to remount the hardline after flipping it. I drilled 4 new holes for mounting. Two for the hardline, and two for the OEM coolant overflow tank. I attached everything with zip ties. After I flipped the hardline I just hooked the hoses back up. Everything fit quite well. Here are the 4 holes that I drilled: There are plenty of reasonable ways to do the mounting. This is just the one I chose. If you wanted you could probably mount the hardline with nuts and bolts. Just make sure they clear the fan blades. The tank could also be mounted with nuts and bolts, but you would need custom brackets or spacers. I did this because the FMS (and TurboXS) coolant overflow tank is waaay undersized. I went to the track on Monday and I was blowing coolant all over my engine bay because it was overlowing the tank. The OEM coolant overflow tank is 2-3 times larger and should provide plenty of room for expansion. Thanks to synolimit for the idea. His install may have been a little cleaner than mine, but I'm happy with my setup. Here's his original post: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...4#post33883784 Quote:
See here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2200790 My engine bay was covered with coolant and E85. I blew a fuel line last week and then had coolant spray all over while I was at the track. It was pretty gross. I did a rinse, Simple Green, and rinse (like the Civic thread I posted), and it came out looking good as new! |

I tried posting that below gregroot198521's picture whoring but I hadn't refreshed and those other posts got in first, making it look like I was rolling my eyes at your sweet engine bay.

I see you're still sporting the silver BPV. Is it growing on you? Also did you protect it from the simple green when you sprayed your engine bay? I have heard simple green dulls aluminum.
Speaking of the Forge BPV, I'm interested in knowing how many (if any) shims you used. I got my Forge today and I'm finding shim information to be scarce. |

And I wasn't hating on your car, although most people relocate their license plate because they have a FMIC. Just sayin'... |
