boo-urns on the SRI, or "hot air intake" Stock airbox, or cold air FTW IMO.

wow im definitely waiting for v2's to come out!! cant wait!!!!!!!!!

james,

it is going to be setup right next to the lower half of the airbox and far away from the engine (as far away as inside the bay can get). the filter (k&n cone) has an open top and the lower airbox's opening to the fender will pretty much feed directly into it. it shouldnt be very warm compared to other short ram setups.

if it sucks, ill just sell the setup. it will be made of a maf adapter, k&n cone, and a silicone 3" hose (havent decided on tube/hose yet, suggestions??). all i remove is the top of the airbox and the piece between torque box and the maf sensor. this way i can customize the length of it so its as far away from the engine as possible. and its easily put back to stock because im still under warranty.

i might fab up some sort shield/funnel so it protects from when i do dirty driving in kamloops and gets most air from the fender opening. ill have to wait and see when i get it and when i can ditch these crutches im on.

EDIT: so i emailed mark at a2r and i asked him about the robotic welds and the better quality being true for the v2's. i got this as a reply:

"True True True.

Should be out hopely 4-8+ weeks from now. Everything is still on production at this moment. Thank you very much Max. =)

I hope the price doesn't increase too much and that the fitment won't require a lot of fidgeting.

I'm thinking about buying the a2rinc headers, but I'm not sure if I want to get the ones that are out now or wait...what do you guys think?

By the way, I have the 1.8L.

Thanks.

Got my headers from speedyracer installed today on my 05. Install was straight forward. Not as loud as I was expecting. I currently only have a cobb intake with stock exhaust.

Here some pics of the ebay borla knocks-offs from speedyracer. Was a quick ship and was packed ok as well. I figure I'll put these up for reference for when someone gets the "super robotic tig welds" version.

IMG tags do not work to my gallery from here... See here for the lazy

Mine looked identical to those and everything ended up well...I'll be doing a sound clip later for a comparison pre and post of these headers. I'll be sure to post it here.

that just looks like the welds weren't cleaned off after they were done... i get that little problem all the time when i weld... has to do with the amount of gas being used during welding... it's pretty hard to avoid... it should just wipe off... it doesn't look like rust though...

especially since those are made of SS...

just like everything else in the world, you get what you pay for...

i'm sure they are going to be fine...

It's supposed to be stainless steel Maybe the welds will rust from the welding rod, and the entire header will fall apart...oh noes!
