Default I am new so please get the jokes out of the way and help me :)

I have a 2006 subaru wrx. It came without a spoiler, and I would like to add one. I have seen several on eBay and can get them color matched to my car. The problem is that none of them come with a mounting template to drill the holes.

I used to work in a body shop so the installation does not worry me as much as trying to guess where the holes should go. The dealership told me that they do not have this information and it would be best for me to "ask a buddy to remove their spoiler to get a location for the holes". Ever tried doing that?!?! Even your best friends will take a swing at you when you ask them to take apart their car!

If anyone out there has this information, I would love to get my hands on it.

Location SLC, UT
Year 2006
Make subaru
Model wrx
Color Blue
Currently wingless, but looking for the sti wing and will swap trunks to do so if needed. Looking for an extra hood scoop (black a plus) but cannot seem to find one that will fit an 06.

Usually people swap trunk lids rather than drill the holes for mounting the wing...you should look into that option, there are lots of people out there looking to go wingless.

I don't know what kind of shape your trunk is in but there are many people looking to go without a wing. You could probably even find someone that would be willing to trade their trunk with wing for your wingless trunk plus cash or not.

Personally I like the wingless look but its all personal preference.

Easiest way to do this is a trunk swap with someone who has a trunk the same color you have with whatever wing you want. Quick plan.

Step 1: Fill out profile
Step 2: Go to your regional classifieds forum (SWIC, NWIC, SE, ect)
Step 3: Post new thread with title like... WTT: ____ color wingless trunk for WRX/STI wing trunk. (whatever wing you want)
Step 4: Watch thread and when you have an offer, get in contact with said person, meet somewhere and swap.

BTW: Either the person who you swap with or you can look up directions if you need them by searching either here or maybe on scoobymods.com for instructions on a trunk swap.

Listen to what we are saying here.. Just post the year and color wingless trunk to trade and sit back and watch the offers come pouring in. It seems wingless is in fad, this morning anyway.........so try that, trade for a winged, wrx or sti wing, and be sure to post your location , shipping it is too expensive.. I happen to have a cgm 05 wrx wing in ny if you need it... good luck,,should have no problem phil

Even though I don't know where you live I can almost guarantee you that if its not in a cave you shouldn't have much of a problem finding someone with a wing that doesn't want it. You get together, a few hours later, BAM you've got your spoiler and hes got his wingless trunk.

I am still looking for someone in my area with a urban gray wingless trunk that wants an sti wing.

There is no aftermarket or bigger OEM hood scoop for your car.

is it just too new for aftermarket parts to be made for it..... is is the 06 not as popular with tuners as some of the older models??
