I would have planned on changing the return line anyhow...fuel in, fuel out. If you can flow too much in-in comparison to what you can flow out, I think you'll have an issue.

If you are going to run it that way, just go to a hardware/autoparts/plumbing supply and find a stepped fitting and use hose clamps.
what size is the oem lines and what size is your return from FPR?

-8 feed and -6 return. Oem return line is 5/16.

I would go with a stepped fitting but i dont think it would seal all to well. The hoses on the 06 are rubber with a hard plastic sleeve running through them.

I'd completely replace the line and use a bulkhead fitting at the tank.

Here's some nice, and special static-dissipating, "teflon" based braided steel hose, rated for 5,000 psi. You could probably put these in the cabin safely: http://www.ushosecorp.com/index.cfm/...uctID/1640.htm

Their Inconel 625 alloy hoses, up to 4" diameter might also interest certain people here looking to replace header flex-sections with something that takes a bit more thermal beating: http://www.ushosecorp.com/index.cfm/...uctID/1570.htm

I'll probably make a post about that in its own right. AFAIK, no aftermarket supplier here offers inconel flex sections that withstand 1800*F. Maybe soon, someone will?

Just purchased the lines and fittings. Ill be running both feed and return underneath the car for peace of mind, last thing i need is a ruptured line in the car.

-12 to -24...that's some big line for our fuel systems...now if I were running meth or nitro-meth, those sizes could apply

You misread it. Those are the larger sizes, and mentioned specifically because, in those sizes, additional layers are added for strength.

Typically, the lines are smaller.

Started working on aquiring parts for my surge tank yesterday, after experiencing fuel cut at the 1/2 tank mark on my last track day.

Will be using a 2L tank and a walbro external in-line fuel pump. I plan on keeping the stock hard lines running through the car as it only makes about 400 whp. I'll post some pictures as I get everything together.

I just tried to go to their website, and it seems down... Not sure, maybe it's just blocked from work.

I keep getting asked questions about my setup... so here's the answer

Do you get any fuel smell in the cabin?
-6 from tank to surge tank 3x 2'

-8 from surge tank to 044 1x 3.5'

-6 from 044 to fuel rail 1x11'

These lenghts are approximate. I recommend you first decide where you are going to route your lines then measure the path - add 1 foot so you don't end up short.

You'll benefit from my experience: I tried the pro-lite.... it sucks. While it's easier to couple the fittings and lighter than all other hoses, the fumes seep out when the car is parked and foul your cabin. Don't use it.

I used Icore (teflon lined) from tank to surge tank (from ebay Nascar surplus) and steel braided teflon-lined "SpeedFlex" hose & fittings from Earl's - go to ANPLUMBING.COM- fume problem solved!

I recommend you use Speedline on all your lines. You'll be happy you did.

Hope that helps

Finished my surge tank setup this weekend. Using the factory metal lines to run through the cabin. Pump is a walbro external. I also installed a metal bulkhead between the trunk and the passenger compartment. This is a track only car.

Some pictures.

I just bought a surge tank like that but all the fittings were wrong. Did you just use a fuel pump relay kit to wire in your external pump?

Looks pretty good!
I like your firewall and it definitely is a good idea to have if you're not running the rear seatback cushion. I've been thinking about fabbing a firewall even with the seats, for peace of mind

Consider wrapping the power (+) cable on the pump. It shouldn't short unless you got some metal stuff in the trunk... but just for added safety

I used a standard bosch relay. Tap'd the negative on the factory pump as the trigger so the pump primes and turns off with the factory pump. Power comes directly from the battery located in the trunk.

Thanks for the compliments.

The firewall was a last minute decision. It was pretty easy to fabricate using cardboard as a template. It bolts in to the factory locations where the vertical seat back braces used to be and has some extra rivets around the perimeter. Only cost about 40 dollars in materials.

Good idea on the postive pump wire.

It looks pretty good. Where did that tank come from? I've been looking for one identical to that.

My original plan was to use the same fittings that engineerx used on his setup but from what i found out yesterday thats not gonna happen. Anyone know where i can pick up the fittings that are shown in the picture below?

I can supply you those fittings...they are about $700 and come with a free surge tank and Bosch 044 pump ;-)

For all those running crazy setup fuel systems, are you still running stock return lines? Or do you change those out as well?
