Dowel Pins? STI 6speed swap.
I started to install my sti trans this weekend.
Theres one small detail that was over looked. When I removed the wrx the dowel pins stayed in the wrx trans. I don't have the wrx trans anymore. ... I am thinking that the dowel pins are a important part. Not just for guiding the trans during install, but to keep everything aligned even after the install. What do you guys think? I thought I would try to get some feedback. Oh, plus after raping up upwards of 5k for most all parts, I am in no rush to start taking short cuts now. I'm going to either going to contact my local steelership Monday, or try to get the person that now has my trans to overnight them for me.

I'd get the dowel pins. That's really what keeps the transmission from twisting. The bolts help but, the dowels do the actual locating.

Ya, Thats what I plan to do. I was so mad that I over looked that! My Sti tranny is Brand new and came with all wiring, clutch fork, slave, pilot bearing. It didn't however come with dowel pins. Oh well, guess I will have to just install the turbo today.

I think that's a 804010070. Double check with your dealer I guess.
