Default 08 sti 6speed swap

im about to do a 6speed swap into my 02 wrx but i cant find anything on swaping an 08 6speed...would it swap like the previous 04/05 sti trannys or would i need additional parts besides the hubs, axels, rear diff, cv's, and drive shaft since its a newer transmission?

That's not true.

There have been several design changes, including transfer gear ratios and front axle styles. Have you tried the 6 speed FAQ to see if it lists 08 details?

You are wrong. The 08+ 6MT is different than it's earlier years.

I believe the vehicle speed sensor is in a different location on the 08 STI trans.....I seem to recall someone who tried to do a similar swap and found that to be a problem.

I am also interested in doing this I am inbetween a 07 or 08

as far as fitment probably similar issues to others I know the bellhousing has to be changed with a previous year model one and the speed sensor as well but I dont know about drive shafts also is the DCCD the same? with the spidder unit work seing how the 08 has all the fancy drive modes I am assuming it is the same but IDK

You can't simply and easily swap 08 sti trans into earlier model WRX's and it will cost in the neighborhood of 5-6K to do it. You can get brand new 07's for $3500-4000. The 08's have no benefits to the 07's. The SI drive stuff is in the ECU's.

Yes that is the issue you'd have. You can put an 07 bellhousing on it, but then you might as well just buy an 07 trans.

All you have to do is swap a 07' or earlier bell housing to enable you to run the vehicle speed sensor (wich 08'+ don't have). You will also need the plastic gear that goes on to the front diff.
