Default STi engine swap

This forum is way too advanced for me, although it's the right one.

Anyway, I'm just trying to feel out all of the options for my WRX (see left).

Is it possible to put in a newer STi engine (EJ25 or whatever they call it) into a newer WRX 4EAT?

Granted, I have no clue (nor desire right now) where to get an engine, where/how to get one "installed" or anything. I'm just trying to feel around here. Literally, a yes or no answer will do.

Any issues with the 300 HP engine and the 4EAT tranny?
I feel like such a wuss wanting an auto when everyone else wants the 6MT... But, it's my car, oh well. I'm lazy.

real problem would be in ECU, you would have to use FXT 4EAT ECU

you'll most likely destroy your tranny if you get it to work... but if you dont feel like buying a DCCD or NON DCCD Tranny just buy a regular WRX 5 Spd and swap in a RA gear set and you should be all good.

If you do that you'll be fine... Tranny should last
