Battery to trunk
Anyone know the proper procedure for wiring the battery to the trunk? Although this may be akin to fixing something that aint broke, weight distribution on the new wrx seems somewhat heavily biased towards the front. (Then again, I guess a full tank of gas may help that) =P

All you really need is to get a really long chunk of really big wire. You can get it at a stereo shop for $1-2 per foot. Also pick up a distrobution block to put under the hood, and a battery box for the trunk. You can get a ground wire, but it's just as easy to ground the battery to the chassis in the trunk. Then just run the big fatty wire under the carpet and into the distro block, then put the stock wires for the + terminal to the distro block too. Or you can go to www.summitracing.com and buy a kit. They used to have the kits anyway, probably still do.

If you're doing this for the sake of a lighter front end, then just go get a lightweight battery. There was a GB here a few weeks ago. If you put a battery in the trunk, the weight and cost of the additional proper gauge/quality cable will probably be greater than just getting that light battery in the first place.

The reason you run the battery to the rear is to even out the weight distribution, which is exactly why the Miata has it back there from the factory.
