These are only ideas. I need to make a bar first, and then get some $$$ for the lights.

Nice stuff guys. Anyone tried a landing light yet? One of my grandad's friends has a 707 landing light on his Jeep, thing was RIDICULOUS. Just thought I'd throw out the idea...lol...

There shouldn't be any directly legal issues putting lights in the scoop. Unless they are marker lights or neon-type funlights, actually using them for navigation lights on-road may pose some problems. Otherwise, go for it. I don't know what style or size of scoop you have, but regardless, your mounting options as well as the size of the lights will be limited. You will have to either affix mesh or a solid plate directly to the scoop opening, or fabricate a bracket above the engine in order to mount the lights behind the scoop. |

Here's my new setup, as some of you may have seen in the ITN thread in SCIC.
Oooh yeah, that's nice. They're Hella FF1000s: Still have a little cleaning up to do. Going to shorten some wires, aim the lights, put the panel back under the steering column... I made some brackets out of 2x3/16 steel, they're about 7" long and attach directly to the bumper beam, then go through a holes I cut in the bumper cover: I used the biggest sheet metal screws at the store (#14), and it seems solid enough to me. I cleaned that up a little and ended up tightening them all the way through the bumper cover: Drilled a hole in the firewall, and sealed it with a rubber grommet and silicone: The switch is in the blank for the air suspension my car doesn't have. When the switch is on, the lights come on with my high beams. More pictures: That bumper is all cracked and stuff thanks to my sister when she rear-ended someone my freshman year when I didn't have my car. Last edited by jamal; 04-11-2005 at 08:22 AM. Well, you could look into the Hella Micro FF or the Hella Micro DE Projectors. www.rallylights.com has them.

^^^Wow... Now that looks mean. What kind of lamps? They look like PIAA 520's or something. In the second picture they look like they're mounted sideways perhaps? Are they foglamps or driving lamps? Looks great though!

They are PIAA 520 and the are mounted sideways. I was going ot mount them to the bumper support but it worked out better mounted sideways, they're driving lights, I bought them on ebay and it didnt state weather it was driving or fog but I think I like the Driving light style. |

SloSubie - You might be able to rotate the lens within the housing to properly orient the lens. Depending on the optics it may be beneficial for max output! Looking good! get us a closeup of the bumper fog housing so we can check out the finished look!
