What's the verdict on doing my exhaust finishers on my 2013 hatch? Will they get too hot?

I plasti-dipped the rear bumper of my 2004 WRX and don't have any exhaust issues. I would say you are safe if the tips aren't physically in contact.

Plastidip is resistant to over 300 degrees. You could coat your exhaust tips themselves and they would be fine.

If you do coat the finishers, I'd love to see how they look.

Yeah I didn't pay attention to that part when my friend told me about it... But it doesn't look too bad if its done right

I plan to put my wingless trunk on and do my hood, roof and trunk in black with the gloss finish. Hope to do it over the Christmas break.

Need some opinions on which way to go with my winter setup! I'm liking the blue, lime green and darker yellow. Just wanted to hear some other opinions.

Dipped my hood scoop out of pure boredom. Found some laminate in my basement and decided to negative the JDM forester emblem. Looks nice from behind the drivers wheel

Try dark red? Or maybe black?

Personally, bright colored wheels on a red subi make the colors clash as I see it. But! Go with what you like

Alright guys, I plasti-dipped my rear chrome strip over 6 months ago and it's still holding strong. I want to dip my cup holders but am wondering if they will withstand the daily beating of cups, phones, etc. I am looking to paint the center console because I have a tan one. I could easily just buy a black center console but why spend $50+ when I can spend $5.

Here's the chrome strip..

I would imagine it'll hold up decently. Just clean the surface real well.
My front lip has taken a bit of a beating and the plasti dip is still fine.

A few questions for those of you who have plasti-dipped your wheels.

How long has it been since you done it and hows it holding up? How many coats did you do and how many cans did it take? Does it fade over time and is it hard to clean?

I know there are many threads asking these questions but there are so many mixed opinions on the stuff, it makes it hard to find the actual truth. Some say it lasts a long time while others say it doesn't last no time. I would like to do the wheels on my 2012 hatch (i don't want to paint them because of the fact its permanent) and im just wondering if it is worth it. Where i live (newfoundland), plasti dip is pretty expensive, no less than 20 bucks a can. And i assume you would need at least 4 cans so i dont want to spend close to 100 bucks on stuff thats not going to last no time! I would do all the prep work necessary and take my time painting them. I really only need it to last me from spring until next fall and maybe the next spring as i will be getting new wheels not this summer but the next.

thanks in advance!

Id say its pretty durable. Ive had my wheels p-dipd for about 6 months and theres no scratches or peeling. But they are starting to get a hint of haziness from the brake dust. I havent tried cleaning them but i am planning on spraying them with a few fresh coats to even out some imperfections. My advice is to spray thick layers so its easy to peel off. I doubt Id be able to peel off mine easily right now.

Would it be cheaper to buy plastidip online and get it shipped to you?

Good luck.
