The color is Plasma Blue Pearl, new for 2011 and only available on the STI (in the US). It's blue sometimes and purple other times, so most call it blurple.

Anyone want to point me in the direction of a good yet not $$$ shop in the Boston/metro west area or Springfield area?
I've thrown in the towel on the front derailleur (iPhone just tried to autocorrect to "derail her" lol). Also need to bleed the brakes and have a bearing replaced in either the rear hub or derailleur somewhere.
Or point me in the direction of a new bike, lol

Try JRA cycles in Medford. Good people, GREAT bikes. I went to the SRAM tech night there a few weeks ago and the staff is very knowledgable and laid back.

I'll confirm JRA cycles, I grew up around the corner and always went to them when buying bikes, parts/maintenance or just looking for some knowledge.

If your in the springfield area then IMO it's a little far of a drive..

Thanks for the info guys. Only reason I posted Springfield is because my girlfriend lives out that way (Westfield) and I'm out there a lot and will be doing a lot of riding out there this season.

Does anybody know of a MTB club near Old Lyme, CT? I'm new to the area, and am getting bored riding alone. Thanks!
Just down the street in Niantic is Niantic Bay Bike Shop ( http://www.nianticbaybicycles.com/ ) . They seem like good guys, I bought our cruiser bikes there. I spend most weekends in Niantic in the summer, I'll keep an eye out for your blurple car.

QV Velo - They are closer to Danialson/Plainville area. They are all very good riders, but never drop you. The club is mostly roadies, but we go to Arcadia or Big river on Weekends and Thompson Dam on Friday nights.

Metro west, Landry's in Natick is the only shop I go to. Jeremy and Jeff in the shop are the best. Always helpful and let me borrow tools when I need.

Don't know if anyone responded before the server was refreshed so I will ask again....

What does everyone use/want for cranks on their DH bike?

My current contenders in order are Deity Vendetta, Truvativ Descendant, E13 DH, and Saints

I think I am going to enter the DH race at Pat's Peak NH. Can't go wrong with best of two race runs and a cheaper then usual reg fee.

Even though I'm horribly out of shape, I'm going to try to make it out tomorrow night. Since it finally stopped raining and all.

I know the feeling, and this rain hasn't been helping

After learning my factory Halo wheels on my street MTB had zero spoke prep (after they, with no exaggeration all came loose at the park ) I've been back riding small bikes. Not sure how many folks around here ride dirt jumps/park/such things, but its kind of fun not to be throwing around an MTB for once! Pic was after I finished painting the frame, and the silly gold stem has since been deleted.

Yes, there is a hole in the wall

Maybe next time. Ride sucked tonight. One very slow new rider meant a lot of waiting. The mosquitoes were ferocious.
