You the one in Riechenbach-steegen? If so, I was the DGM 08 that followed you for a ways. That road up to Kusel is a very fun one.

Christian said he was on nasioc. What's his sn??

When is everyone meeting up at DC again? That was the most fun I've had in a long time. Just hanging out bs'in, talking about cars, working on cars, racing/toying around....LEGALLY on the autobahn, car show, cruising around town together.... I'm going to head to DC whenever my star specs come in to return their tires. 245/40/17's btw. Christian couldn't get the star specs so I ordered off tirerack. $781 shipped

Christian's SN is "Goe". Those star specs are nice, just put a set of 245/40/17 in as well. Looks real mean. I'm glad you decided to stay with 17' wheels, you still on the bbs? Usually they meet there every Friday for Street Culture. My birthday is that Friday so we are looking at eating and then meeting there for Street Culture.

lol I can't afford 18's but I want them. 18x10 RPF1's with some Karlton Flares...mmmmmmmmm

So my buddy was following me the other day and said he said blueish/white smoke coming out of my exhaust, then black and it smelled sweet. ???? oil, fuel AND coolant?? I know I'm running rich, Christian is trying to help me. I emailed Cobb Plano to see if they would unlock my maps for viewing. Waiting for an email from my tuner their. I did a compression test yesterday when my motor was at 130* (halfway warmed) and my results were within 10%, 114,114,123,124 so that's good. Now I need to attempt to make a leak down tester and find a coolant tester kit.

Hey guys we are up to 10 participants in the ring trip for the 26th. Six of you are from nasioc and the rest are buddies from word of mouth around Vilseck. Does anybody else want to join us? Let's get this bigger, this is going to be our biggest yet if we can keep these numbers. Check in on the Nurburgring Trackdays/Meets thread!

YES!!! Another subie in schweinfurT!!!! woot woot LOL It's small bro. There's only one other modded wrx and he bailed on the last meet. Getting the kitty kat. I've only talked to the guy once. I have a couple buddies that own evo's but that's it. Tips? No front window tint, period. No white turn signals bulbs (like I did), your exhaust must be under 95db. Mine was 105db, 102 with a silencer so I stuffed steel wool in it and made it 94db for inspection then took it out :P When are you do here?

Anyone going to German Race Wars? Anthony, the little skinny guy that was with me last Friday that owns an evo wants to go. He wanted to meet up with yall and head down together. Yall can meet up here in Schweinfurt and fill up then convoy up to Erfurt. I'll be in Amsterdam this weekend.

I had to pay for mine since I had my 07 Silverado shipped free. If it's not bolted down, it's got to come out. Other than that it should be fine to ship, inspection here is where they will tell you what you need to fix. They don't snif the exhaust here but do measure the db of the exhaust. My car is completely built too so maybe we can have some fun Jan 2013?!? Holy **** bro. lol I leave June 2013. I've been here since June 2010.

Haha, this is crazy! If the tint is from factory then you can keep it by the way. Just ensure you have proof that it was from factory. Welcome to Germany and hopefully you can get with us on next summers Ring trips!

He gets here in Jan...lets just say he wont be here in March. We all know what that means. As for the competition, the women don't care! They'll leave one barracks and head over to another. They're "team players" lol I'm white and married so I don't have to worry about the team players :P I'm doing the head coach.

Ya, Ian is right about the factory tint. An mp tried telling me that I had to take my trucks factory tint off. I told him it was factory and he said "ya but I can see it" as he was picking at it on the window lol He was just being a nazi since he had just pulled my nco over in front of me that had a G35 with DARK windows. Never had a problem since though. My subie, no front tint I miss my 10% in front.

Yup. I rocked 10% for about a year and half till they changed the USAREUR regs and my wife removed it while i was deployed. Good thing she did. I would have had a scene.

But I 2006-2007 I was pulled over in Nuremburg, Amberg and Munchen by politzi for my tint. By was released each time They saw I was american

Damn, how long have you been here? At Hood, the cops in TX didn't bother me, was just a pita to get inspected. $30 to a Mexican hole-in-the-wall place did it for me every year just have to know where to go.

Man, I just rented a 118i wagon. Those seats are tight! All the windows and mirrors are small. This is going to be a fun drive to Amsterdam.

I heard from ppl here in afghan that deployed from germany that the place is supposed to be shut down. Is that what you meant or something totally different . I like where your head is at on the "coaching" thing. As for the tint, I'll just have it removed since its 7 yrs old (bought the car new in 2005) and go clear windows; don't care either way. I just more concerned with the mods. I might end up selling the car before I go.

BTW: What are the winters like over there?

Depends on the year. The winter before last was full of freakish amounts of snow, this past winter it was about 3F (no exaggeration) for about 6 weeks solid. Also, the Germans LOVE road salt. It covers the road like snow. It's a little intense.

Spray the bottom of the car down a lot, let it warm up before you beat on it. What pray tell is a winter package? Battery heater and fog lights? I seriously considered trying to rig up a battery heater, but no outlet+220V only=no worky.

Keep the car and just bring a summer setup and a winter setup. I switch back and forth between coils and struts. Take front lip off. Switch to winter tires on diff rims u dont care about perfection on. The salt will build up. Get your car paint prepped. (cut and heavy wax)

Also if you have a chance to get 3m installed on your hood and fenders and bumper. I have so many small dings in my paint from rocks and big bugs from impacts at 160mph on the autobahn.

Plus if you know u go thru a lot of certain parts. Then stock up and bring. I go thru 3 inch DP/axelback gaskets all the time.

Seems like a hassle for car upkeep. IDK, I might sell the car to get something else. I've had it for 6 yrs. Only good news so far is its paid off. Witch is all the more reason to keep it. I've got time to decide...

Don't sell it! Bring that mofo out to Germany and run the streets with it! Up keep is not bad and if you have any issues with her we have a shop that will work on you that is Subaru certified mechanics! The only pain is swapping suspension if you have it. Other than that just keep her clean underneath. Some guys around here keep coilovers on for winter time but coat them with something to protect and have had no issues. I will be doing that when the time comes. Don't sell your car, if you do you will be missing out on so many Nurburgring trips that you will regret everyday not having it. Mods don't mean anything out here for inspection. 99% of the dudes out here are catless because emissions is not checked out here. They check random crap and nothing with modifications. Hell most don't even understand the car when they see it under the hood. Sorry so long but I don't want any confusion on what you need to do which is keep your car!
